| As times change, old communities built by local governments from the top down, the functions they provide gradually diverge from the diverse spatial demands of residents. In order to meet the needs of daily life, citizens have reshaped community public spaces through bottom-up approaches, resulting in the emergence of various informal public spaces in the community environment, which has revitalized the public spaces of old communities. This paper takes the study of informal public space as an entry point and selects the Huzhong community,a typical old community in Changsha,as a design object, discusses the theory, case studies and design principles of informal public space, and tries to propose a renewal strategy for the Huzhong community under the study of informal public space in old communities, and devotes itself to building a vibrant community environment, thus promoting the development of community public space in a diversified direction. The paper is divided into six chapters. The first introductory chapter describes the background, purpose and significance of this paper, defines relevant concepts, and clarifies the research methodology and framework.Chapter 2 provides a review of relevant studies and provides the necessary theoretical foundation for the subsequent in-depth study of informal public spaces in old communities.Chapter 3 analyzes and summarizes the causes, spatial characteristics, values and common problems of informal public spaces in old communities, and presents case studies.Chapter 4 proposes design goals and principles for the renewal of old communities under the study of informal public spaces based on the inductive analysis of the research objects and case studies.Chapter 5 presents the design practice, following the aforementioned design principles and the current situation of the Huzhong community, and proposes corresponding design strategies, which are applied to the design of public space in the Huzhong community.Chapter 6 concludes the study with a summary of the conclusions and shortcomings. |
