Research On The Impact Of Agricultural And Rural Modernization Development On The Income Gap Between Urban And Rural Areas

In the report of the 19 th National Congress of the CPC,China has made phased strategic arrangements for the realization of the centenary goals,one of which is to basically realize socialist modernization by 2035.In order to basically realize socialist modernization by 2035,the modernization of agriculture and rural areas is an indispensable link.However,at present,China’s rural development is relatively backward,and various problems are emerging one after another,especially since the new outbreak of SARS,urban-rural relations,domestic and foreign relations have become more complex.Due to historical problems,the average income level of urban residents in China is far higher than that of rural residents,and has entered a new stage of development.The problems of lagging development in rural areas and the income gap between urban and rural residents can not be underestimated,only by making corresponding changes,deepening the reform,changing the development thinking and innovating the development mode,can we better guide the future economic trend of our country and realize the goal of struggle.Developing agriculture and narrowing the income gap between urban and rural areas means that we should pay attention to the balance between fairness and efficiency in the process of economic development.At present,there are various models for the development of agricultural modernization in rural areas,showing different characteristics and trends according to different places and people.Can it really bring real benefits to rural residents and increase farmers’ income,so as to narrow the income gap between urban and rural areas,it is worth our in-depth study.First of all,his paper summarizes,sorts out,analyzes and summarizes the domestic and foreign literature on the development of agricultural and rural modernization and the income gap between urban and rural areas,combing the process of agricultural and rural modernization development in China and the possible factors affecting the urban-rural income gap,and combining the general requirements of the rural revitalization strategy,this paper analyzes the impact mechanism of the urban-rural income gap.Secondly,after summing up the gains and losses of other scholars’ methods,considering the application of comprehensive evaluation targets,the accessibility and continuity of data,a comprehensive evaluation index system is constructed by selecting 22 relatively good representative data indexes,and using R software to carry out the comprehensive evaluation by using the Data pre-processing and TOPSIS method,finally,the agricultural and rural modernization level of each province is obtained.Thirdly,the paper calculates the index data to measure the income gap between urban and rural areas,and makes a preliminary analysis on the level of agricultural and rural modernization and the development of the income gap between urban and rural areas.Then,based on the provincial panel data of 30 provinces（except Hong Kong,Macao,Taiwan and Tibet）in China from 2012 to 2018,the comprehensive evaluation results are introduced into the dynamic panel data model as the core explanatory variable,this paper studies the impact of the overall model,the robustness test and the regional model on the income gap between urban and rural areas.Finally,according to the empirical results of the Econometric Model,put forward the corresponding measures to develop agricultural and rural modernization measures and use the opportunity of rural revitalization to narrow the income gap between urban and rural areas.The results show that first,the high level areas of agricultural rural modernization are mostly concentrated in the eastern coastal areas,and the level of agricultural rural modernization in the central and western provinces is relatively low,it shows that the adjustment needs to be improved day by day rather than solved overnight.Third,the development of agricultural and rural modernization in China has obviously reduced the income gap between urban and rural areas,the improvement of agricultural and rural modernization level in central and western provinces has a greater narrowing effect on the income gap between urban and rural areas than in the eastern region.Part of the control variables showed different effects in the overall model and the regional heterogeneity test model.
