This Chinese to English practice report is based on the report writer’s translation of A Snow Survival Cabin written by famous children’s literary writer Cao Wenxuan.It intends to analyze the difficulties encountered in her translation process and propose corresponding coping strategies under the guidance of reception aesthetic theory.The report is composed of task description,task process,literature review,case analysis and conclusion.The author first introduces the source text and significance of the translation task.Then the translation process is elaborated,including the searching of information about the writer of the source text and features of children’s literature before translation,comprehension and reformulation of translation and revision of and reflection on the translation practice after translation.The fourth chapter comes to the case analysis.In this chapter,the author articulates translation principles of children’s literature guided under the reception aesthetic theory:word choice to meet children’s expectation,visualized expression to cater to children’s taste and proper blank-leaving to trigger children’s participation.At last,the author summarizes her translation practice,hoping to give some constructive suggestions to her and other translators to benefit their translation of the same text type. |
