| With economic globalization,China has constantly deepened its economic exchanges and cooperation with countries around the world.Business interpretation serves as a bridge to promote international business cooperation.This is a report on consecutive interpreting of business negotiation The author assumed to the consecutive interpreting task for the Matchmaking Meeting of the 1st ASEAN-China TV Week.There are five chapters in this report,including task description,pre-interpretation preparation,case study under the guidance of skopos theory,assessment,and conclusion.Chapter 1 introduces the background information of business negotiation,the conference themes,and both parties.Chapter 2 is pre-interpretation preparation,which can be divided into two parts:indirect preparation and direct preparation.Indirect preparation includes bilingual competence,nonlinguistic knowledge,and interpreting skills;Direct preparation includes conference materials preparation,other preparation,and pre-departure and on-site preparation.Chapter 3 analyzes the interpreting process with the introduction of the major characteristics of business interpretation and the three rules of the skopos theory.The author also summarizes five major translation strategies used in the interpreting task:amplification,explanation,division,omission,and word-for-word translation.Chapter 4 is the assessment of self-evaluation and clients feedback.Chapter 5 is the conclusion of business interpretation.The author has realized that interpreting competence is the foundation of interpreting practice,interpreters must constantly improve their professional skills;Moreover,in business interpreting,logical reasoning ability and financial thinking are very important;At the same time,interpreters need to master rich cross-cultural knowledge.The author hopes to improve professional skills by analyzing her interpreting practice and provide some insight for fellow interpreters in doing business interpretation. |
