This practice report is based on a business negotiation that author participated in,the two parties of negotiation are respectively from Hebei Delong Environmental Engineering Co.,Ltd.and Sewerage Systems Ghana Limited from Ghana.The negotiation was mainly about the budget and modification of contract details on modification project of Fecal treatment plant of Ghana Lavender Hill.The seller Hebei Delong Environmental Engineering Co.,Ltd.sold machine and equipment for the reconstruction of the existing domestic sewage treatment plant in Accra,the capital of Ghana to the user Sewerage Systems Ghana Limited and provided the corresponding rectification services.Both parties discussed the details of the contract and agreed on the total quotation of the contract submitted by the seller.Business negotiation is a kind of interpretation,which not only has the general characteristics of interpretation,but also has its own specialty.Under the guidance of the three rules of functionalist skopos theory,this practice report summarizes and reflects on the interpretation of the entire negotiation process.The practice report consists of five parts: The first chapter is a description of the task,which is a brief introduction of the source and the purpose of the project.The second chapter and the third chapter are the process description and preparations for the interpreting practice respectively.The third chapter mainly introduces the preparatory work before the interpreting practice from the following three aspects:collecting background information,familiarizing with texts and arranging terminology,and familiarizing with accent.The fourth chapter is the case analysis which is also the core chapter of this report,combining with the specific case to analyze the good application of translation strategies and mistakes in the business negotiation.The mistakes occurred mainly due to stress and poor preparations are misinterpretation and miss of interpretation.The fifth chapter is a summary of this report,which reflects on the problems in this practice andproposes solutions to provide new ideas and reference suggestions for interpreters to choose the correct interpretation strategy in interpreting.
