A Practice Report On Simulative Simultaneous Interpreting Of “Remarks At The Summit Of Turning Point USA’s Teen Student Action Delivered By President Trump”

This practice report is a simulative simultaneous interpretation report under the guidance of Interpretative Theory.The translation material is selected from the speech delivered by President Trump at the 2019 Turning Point USA’s Teen Student Action Summit.It is a political-oriented material.This report is divided into four parts: task introduction and process,case analysis and task summary.The task introduction is further divided into task background,task description and task purpose in detail.The task process includes pre-translation preparation,translation phase,and post-translation evaluation.The case analysis is guided by Interpretative Theory,covering listening comprehension and conversion,and the use of translation methods.Listening and understanding,and conversion correspond to the first two steps of Interpretative Theory.According to the characteristics of the materials,I mainly used sense-group division,reasonable prediction,and information summary.The use of translation methods corresponds to the last step of Interpretative Theory.According to the differences between Chinese and English and the characteristics of the materials,I mainly used amplification,conversion of part-of-speech,and word order adjustment.The task summary introduces the translation experience and disadvantages of this interpretation practice.This report would provide reference for future related interpreting studies and interpreters.
