| Nowadays,Chinese overseas career is in full swing.Chinese teachers,as the main body in teaching Chinese as a foreign language,are gradually getting their training on the right track.The " STARTALK" project is part of the "National Security Language" strategic plan of the United States and is dedicated to training foreign language teachers’ teaching ability and students’ language learning ability.The "Chinese Teacher Volunteers" project,launched in 2004,imports a large number of Chinese teacher volunteers from all over the world every year.In order to improve the volunteers’ abilities in Chinese teaching,cross-cultural communication and cultural communication,the National Hanban Office conducts short-term and quick pre-job training for teachers before taking up their posts.This paper uses case tracking method,comparative analysis method and questionnaire survey method,taking the part of teacher training in 2018 "STARTALK" project and tracking the short-term pre-job training of Chinese teachers volunteers from Hanban to South Korea in 2020 as the main research objects,combining relevant data and the results of tracking survey,compares the contents of teacher training modes in the two projects,and based on the data in the questionnaire,summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of the two projects in teacher training.Finally,combined with the problems existing in teacher training in other Chinese teaching programs,some feasible suggestions are put forward for teacher training in Chinese training programs.The full text is divided into six parts,each part of the specific research content is as follows:The first part is the introduction,which respectively expounds the background and reasons of the topic selection.It elaborates the research status and achievements,research significance and the three research methods of this article: comparative analysis,case tracking and questionnaire survey from three aspects: the currentsituation research of Chinese teacher training as a foreign language,the "STARTALK" project in the United States and the volunteer training project for Chinese teachers run by the Chinese government.The second and third parts specifically introduce the teacher training in the "STARTALK" project and the volunteer training program for Chinese teachers run by Hanban from the aspects of project introduction,preliminary preparation,participants,selection methods and contents,training forms,training contents and evaluation methods.The fourth part organizes the Chinese teachers participating in the training of the two projects to carry out a questionnaire survey,and conducts a centralized survey from the aspects of personal information statistics and preliminary preparation.Starting from the training mode,the data of the two groups of participants are counted separately,and objective questions are set to collect the personal opinions of the participants of the two projects on the curriculum arrangement.According to the collected data for statistics and simple analysis,provide data sources for the next chapter.The fifth part compares and summarizes the advantages of the project in teacher training from the teaching concept,teaching design mode,teaching practice and observation,project curriculum arrangement,project management system and selection and evaluation system,combined with questionnaire results.In the sixth part,the teacher training content of the "STARTALK" project and the Chinese teacher volunteer project is analyzed and summarized in combination with the teacher training content of the Chinese teaching training projects such as PIB,CIB,and CCNU-UM,which is jointly held by the College of Literature of Central China Normal University and the University of Memphis in the United States.In addition,some feasible suggestions for the development of the Chinese teacher training project are put forward in combination with the comparative advantages and data analysis results of the previous projects. |
