As the "Chinese fever" heats up globally,the demand for Chinese teachers in countries around the world is expanding.As a member of many Chinese volunteer teachers in Thailand,the author found through his own experience and in the process of communicating with other volunteer teachers,that due to the comprehensive factors such as language barriers,cultural backgrounds,thinking modes,and teaching environments,Chinese Volunteer teachers who teach overseas are prone to anxiety during the teaching process,which will affect their teaching work and daily life.Teachers’ psychological problems have always been the focus of attention in academic circles,but the study of Chinese teachers who have gone abroad to teach,especially the Chinese volunteer teachers who have not enough teaching experience,has rarely been involved.At present,with the vigorous development of Thai language education in Thailand,the number of volunteer teachers for teaching Chinese in Thailand is increasing,but most teachers still lack relevant mental health knowledge training and guidance,and teachers’ psychological problems represented by teaching anxiety The attention received remains limited.The purpose of this article is to explore the current situation of teaching anxiety of Chinese teachers in Thailand and its main causes,and to propose strategies to improve teaching anxiety based on the research conclusions,to help teachers ease their teaching anxiety and to better adapt to work and life overseas Strengthen their own psychological construction and related psychological research.The study used93 Chinese volunteer teachers in Thailand as the research object,using a combination of qualitative and quantitative research,using an adapted teaching anxiety scale and a state-trait anxiety questionnaire.Volunteers conduct in-depth interviews and case studies.Through investigation,the study found that the overall level of teaching anxiety of Chinese volunteer teachers in Thailand was high,and there was a significant correlation between the level of teaching anxiety and the state-trait anxiety level.The analysis results of the nine dimensions of teaching anxiety show that thereis no significant correlation between the other dimensions of teaching anxiety except for the correlation between lesson preparation anxiety and language and cultural anxiety,classroom performance anxiety,and language and cultural anxiety.There is also a significant correlation between individual differences and some dimensions of teaching anxiety.The research analysis results show that the factors that cause anxiety in teaching Chinese volunteers in Thailand are mainly divided into five aspects: teachers themselves,students,schools,Hanban training and other levels.Based on this,this article puts forward several suggestions to alleviate teachers’ teaching anxiety.The first is suggestions for teachers,including improving professional knowledge and skills,improving language communicative ability and self-efficacy,enhancing confidence,doing good psychological construction,and learning positive psychological adjustment.To maintain good communication with others;followed by suggestions for teaching schools,including formulating reasonable teaching requirements,strengthening the emphasis on Chinese teachers and Chinese classes,and improving teaching facilities;and finally,suggestions for Hanban training sites,including paying attention to Guidance and training of teachers ’mental health knowledge,strengthen the training of teachers’ language in the country where they are appointed,and pay attention to the practicality of the training content.
