Today,the Chinese language teaching industry is booming in overseas countries.The Confucius Institutes and the Confucius Classrooms which have been running popular for more than a decade is the best proof of the Chinese language teaching going global.As the "Chinese language fever" continues to heat up,at present,the number of Chinese teachers dispatched by the Confucius Institute Headquarters/Hanban is far lower than the requirement around the world.The quality of Chinese teachers is far from meeting the needs of overseas Chinese teaching.As the main force of international Chinese teaching,volunteer teachers play an important role in overseas Chinese teaching and cultural communication.Volunteer teachers are required to participate in pre-post training prior to dispatch to improve their ability in Chinese teaching,language skills,cross-cultural communication,etc.,and to make adequate preparations for their work and life after their arrival.Three months after arrival,volunteer teachers will take part in the on-site training to solve the actual problems and fulfill missions.Therefore,the importance of pre-service training and on-site training is self-evident.Thailand as the country with earliest dispatched and largest number of volunteer teachers,has formed a certain scale and system in pre-service training and on-site training for volunteer teachers.This study takes the pre-service training at the training base of the domestic B University and the post-site training at the M-zone in Thailand as an example.Based on the previous studies,it combines literature research methods,field investigation methods,global perspectives,questionnaires,interview survey method and data statistical analysis method and conducts comprehensive investigations and reflections on the pre-service training and on-site training for Thailand volunteers in 2015,2016 and 2017.The study consists of six chapters.The first chapter is the introduction part,including the origin of the study,the significance of the study,the combing of relevant literature and the definition of key concepts.The second chapter is the research design,including the research object and research purpose,research ideas and research content,research methods and research innovation.Chapters 3 and 4 combine field surveys with questionnaire surveys to analyze the pre-job training in the domestic B University and on-site training in Thailand's M districts in 2015,2016,and 2017,point out existed problems in teaching and other aspects.The fifth chapter is part of the questionnaire survey and analysis of the study.The researchers conducted surveys of 200 Chinese volunteer teachers who participated in the training,including basic information of volunteer teachers,survey and analysis of pre-service training and on-site training,and comparison of pre-service and on-site training.The sixth chapter puts forward the feasibility and pertinent suggestions for pre-service and on-site training for volunteer teachers.It connects the pre-service training of volunteer teachers with the on-site training and puts forward three major training principles.The research perspective of this article is rather unique,and the pre-job training and on-site training have been considered in an integrated manner.The research methods are more diverse and provide the basis for full investigation.Therefore,they are innovative.I hope this article can provide some ideas and inspiration for the training of volunteer teachers in Thailand.
