As a kind of speech act,"suggestion" is very common in daily life.Whether in professional activities or interpersonal communication,people often use suggestive speech acts.Previous studies have mostly conducted research on suggestive speech acts from the perspective of cross-cultural and communicative strategies,and most of the research content has focused on the use of syntactic structures and the choice of communicative strategies.Nowadays,the teaching philosophy with the ultimate goal of cultivating learners’ communicative ability in using Chinese has reached a consensus in the academic circles.Cultivating the ability to communicate in Chinese means to cultivate the ability of students to use certain language forms to realize their communicative intentions.This paper chooses to study the suggestive speech act from the perspective of communicative intention.First of all,starting from the communicative intention,we re-discuss the connotation,structure and discourse form of the suggestion speech act.In this part,we introduce the relevant discussions of Searle and domestic scholars and the definition of suggestion speech act firstly,and give our definition of it.Then,we cognize the suggestion speech act as a whole,and conduct a detailed analysis of its communicative subject(the one persuades others and the one accepts persuasion from others),communicative intention,communicative environment and discourse form types.In terms of the type of utterance form,we proposed our own classification method: According to whether the utterance form directly reflects the suggestion intention mark and intention content,the suggestion speech act is divided into explicit suggestion and implicit suggestion,and then divided into detail.The second part is to sort out and analyze the suggestion items in the“International Curriculum for Chinese Language Education” and “HSK Text Syllabus”.We investigate the following aspects:(1)How the two syllabuses set the goals of the suggestion function?(2)How the common grammatical forms of the suggestion speech act are arranged?(3)How the related topics and tasks of the suggestion speech act are arranged?(4)How do the common words of the suggestion speech act show in the vocabulary list? First,we analyze the specific situation of the suggestion items in the outline based on the survey results,and then use the analysis results as the basis for the following further exploration of the presentation of the suggestion speech acts in the textbooks for teaching Chinese as a second language.Finally,it is implemented in the textbook for teaching Chinese as a second language.According to the types of utterance forms of suggestion speech acts proposed in this paper and the results of the analysis of the syllabuses,we count and analyze the types of speech forms and the communication environment of suggestion speech acts in the oral textbook "Developing Chinese" comprehensively.It is hoped that we can discover the current problems in the teaching of suggestion functional items in the field of Chinese as a second language through the research from this perspective and put forward the suggestions for solving accordingly.
