China and Korea have obtained remarkable development in the field of educational cooperation and exchange since the official diplomatic relationship being established since 1992,Chinese language and cultre related speciallities has been offered in more than 100 universities in south Korea during the past nearly 30 years.The number of people who are studying Chinese language from basic education to higher education is more than 200,000 in Korea.The Chinese language proficiency test is also recognized by more and more Korean companies and sociaorganizations.It is not only due to the improvement of comprehensive national strength of China,but also benefited from the Confucius institute in Chinese language teaching and cultural promotion in career contribution.As the mainstay of the Confucius institute Chinese teaching,the current Chinese volunteer teachers not a faculty of professionalization and specialization of Chinese as a foreign language.Therefore,there are still many problems to revolve in this team,such as uneven teaching level for the teachers,barriers to intercultural adaptation,insufficient specialization,lack of professional identity,high mobility,etc.This study analysis of South Korea’s Chinese volunteer teachers training present situation and existing problems,and putsputs forward Suggestions for the Chinese volunteer teachers professional development,which will supply reference for promoting the connotative development of Confucius Institutes in Korea and the training of Chinese volunteer teachers team of Confucius Institutes in other regions.In this thesis,firstly,the background and significance of the research,the important and difficult points of the research,and the innovations were presented,meanwhile,the definition of related concepts are also proposed.Based on the theory of intercultural adaptation and teacher professional development theory,the related research results are summarized and sorted out from five aspects,including the difficulties and countermeasures faced by the development of Confucius Institutes;the cross-cultural adaptation of Confucius Institute Chinese volunteer teachers;related research on the training of Confucius Institute Chinese volunteer teachers;the influence of teacher professional development factors research,which will lay a foundation for further research on the professional development of professional development of Chinese volunteer teachers in Korea.Secondly,the 113 Chinese volunteer teachers who participated in the questionnaire survey were used as a sample to analyse the composition of the Chinese volunteer teachers in terms of gender,age,education and profession,and then the cross-cultural adaptation scale was used to analyse the sociocultural adaptation and psychological adaptation of Chinese volunteer teachers,and it was found that the degree of socio-cultural adaptation of Chinese volunteer teachers was poor,and in the pre-job training content awareness scale.In the pre-job training content perception scale,the Chinese volunteer teachers generally believed that traditional Chinese talents play an important role in teaching.Thirdly,taking the four Confucius Institutes in Korea as an example,two Chinese directors were selected and interviewed mainly on three dimensions: personal situation,main difficulties faced in management,difficulties in the development of Confucius Institutes and suggestions for improvement.The seven Chinese volunteer teachers were selected to be interviewed mainly on five dimensions:work adaptation,cultural adaptation,psychological adaptation,policy support and pre-job and in-job satisfaction,and the interview texts were analysed with the help of NVIVO11.0,and the reasons affecting the professional development of Chinese volunteer teachers were mainly focused on three aspects: intercultural adaptation ability,pre-job and in-job training and policy support.Finally,based on relevant literature and research results,we pointed out the presented problems in current Confucius Institutes in Korea in terms of faculty composition,professional development awareness,intercultural adaptation,pre-job and in-job training and management as well as policy support.Therefore,we put forward suggestions for the professional development of Chinese volunteer teachers in five aspects,including optimizing the Chinese volunteer teachers structure and strengthening Chinese volunteer teachers management,multi-party linkage to strengthen professional identity,improving intercultural adaptability,rationally setting up,the pre-job and in-job training system,and protect Chinese volunteer teachers develop in the direction of professionalism.
