Chinese volunteer teachers are the youngest force in international Chinese teaching.They generally teach in foreign primary and secondary schools or educational institutions.They play an important role in the development of Chinese teaching in various countries and play a positive role in promoting the spread and promotion of Chinese language and culture.In the process of teaching abroad,young Chinese volunteer teachers have successfully completed their teaching tasks by using their professional knowledge and skills,at the same time,Chinese volunteer teachers have achieved their own professional growth in the process of teaching.Continuous learning,continuous improvement of professional ability and self-development are the responsibility and mission of every teacher.Therefore,it is necessary to study the professional development of Chinese volunteer teachers.In view of the needs of professional development of Chinese volunteer teachers,this paper studies the cross-cultural teaching experience of Miss.Li,a Chinese volunteer teacher who has been engaged in Chinese teaching in the Philippines.The purpose of this paper is to make a deep,specific and detailed study on a typical research object.This case study includes an in-depth understanding of the professional growth process of the Chinese volunteer teacher,a detailed investigation of the personal information,living environment,professional learning and career planning of the Chinese volunteer teacher,and then an investigation and analysis of the overseas teaching experience of the Chinese volunteer teacher,which can show the problem encountered by Chinese volunteer teacher in the process of work and their solutions better.The paper consists of five parts.The first part,the introduction,describes the background and the significance of this study.And the relevant literature is combed in detail,the relevant theory is studied,and the theoretical basis is determined.The second part,defines the connotation,path and influencing factors of Chinese volunteer teachers' professional development according to the theory of teachers' professional development and the particularity of Chinese volunteer teachers.The third part,according to the content defined above,designs the research method and process,and makes an in-depth investigation on case of Miss.Li,a Chinese volunteer teacher in the Philippines,and analyzes the process of Miss.Li's professional growth combined with the theory of cross-cultural adaptation.The fourth part,according to the professional growth theory of Chinese volunteer teachers and the process of Miss.Li's professional growth,puts forward the enlightenment and suggestions.The fifth part is a profound reflection on this research,including the research method and process,advantages and disadvantages.This case study aims to promote the professional growth of Chinese volunteer teachers,combines the theory of cross-cultural adaptation and teacher professional growth,constructs a research framework,focuses on the investigation and analysis of the teaching experience of Chinese volunteer teacher Miss.Li,and analyzes in detail the premise,path and guarantee of the professional growth of Chinese volunteer teachers.This paper points out the role of psychological adaptation and work adaptation in professional growth,puts forward some effective ways for professional growth,such as self-conscious continuous learning,reflection in action,listening to the opinions of local peers,seeking professional guidance,and carrying out effective cooperation,and expounds the safeguard measures for seeking multi-party support and guidance.The research results will help Chinese volunteer teachers to solve the problems encountered in the teaching process and promote their professional growth.
