Hirokazu Kore-eda,a famous contemporary Japanese film director,is the winner of the Palme d ’Or in Cannes and is regarded as the representative of the "new wave of new Japanese films" in the Heisei era.In his 15 films that have been released to the public,Kore-eda presents the changes in social context and family form buried in Japanese history from an objective and impartial perspective.This thesis focus so abundant and way to build community and characteristics in the film,this thesis discusses how to through the imagined community to explore modernization in Japan in the "old order" and "new ideas" fusion and collision,individual continuously follow the footsteps of "identity" and depend on each other with community members solidarity and unity of both contradiction and harmonious relationship between.Based on the community theory,this thesis conducts text analysis from the perspective of movie-social culture,and with the assistance of historical research and literature research,discusses the internal logic of Kore-eda’s construction of community in his films.The research shows that in his films,he constructs the survivors’ community,the new family community and the small community,which reflects his thinking on the weakening of the Japanese national community,the disintegration of the traditional family community and the modernity of the flow.The introduction and the first chapter explain the background and theoretical background of this study.The introduction sorts out the relevant literature about Kore-eda at home and abroad,and has a relatively clear understanding of the related research on Kore-eda’s films.In the first chapter,this thesis sorts out the relevant theories of the community,analyzes the community from the perspective of structure and culture for further analysis.It believes that the concept of the community is also changing with the changes of The Times,and now the community is more of a feeling lingering in people’s mind.The second chapter discusses the construction of survivor community in Kore-eda’s early films.Kore-eda early in the film build the survivors of the community reflects new Japanese nationalism and the plight of individuals under the new liberalism,namely how to get rid of the memory of the community,as well as in the original community of lack of symbols,the survivors have to integrate into the new community or community reconstruction,again to find the identity of the "self" orientation and sense of belonging.Although most of the survivors’ communities constructed by Kore-eda are faced with the crisis of disintegration,they do not deny such communities comprehensively.Instead,they take ethical care of the "others" from the perspective of the bottom and try to find a new way to construct the community among the "others" abandoned by the society.The third chapter analyzes the changes of the Japanese family structure in Kore-eda’s family film series.Kore-eda shows his thoughts on the family community by showing the changes in the form of the contemporary family community,that is,the family is changing but not dying.Under the social background of the loss of patriarchy,the rise of female consciousness,the increase of nuclear family and the rise of divorce rate in Japan,the traditional family community has gradually dissolved,and the "new family model" has gradually replaced the traditional family model of the original large family.This means that in the course of modernization and the continuous reform of "family system",the form of family community of the same family will also change with the change of time and space.Kore-eda also reveals the contradictory state of both dependence and confrontation between the individual and the family community in the family,and tries to fill the broken and incomplete new family community through the "alternative family" and the "imagined" individual identity.The fourth chapter expounds the small community constructed by Hirokazu Kore-eda in the film Shoplifters and holds that the consciousness of family self-identity without blood relationship is the core element of the construction of the small community.Hirokazu Kore-eda’s depiction of small communities reflects his reflection on the transformation of "family" under the influence of modern Japan.The small community constructed in the film is a direct deconstruction of the family.It does not take blood relationship and geography as the necessary conditions to form a family.It even gives up the legal constraints and constructs a small community where people abandoned by the society and their native families join the group to keep warm.In conclusion,in this thesis,kore-eda build in the movie the survivors of the community,the new family community,small community has carried on the point of view,and further points out that in the movie kore-eda build community community trying to abandon the traditional sense of form and structure,look into the possibility of interpersonal relationships more community concept into the spirit realm,To become a spiritual community connected by inner feelings.
