The Relationships Among Perceived Social Support,Basic Psychological Needs And Depression In High School Students And Intervention Research | Posted on:2022-06-14 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | Country:China | Candidate:X Song | Full Text:PDF | GTID:2505306347990139 | Subject:Mental health education | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | High school students are in a critical period of psychological development and self-exploration.The imbalance of physical and mental development,the rapid development of self-consciousness and the pressure of the coming college entrance examination make senior high school students face a series of problems.Depression is one of the most common mental health problems in high school students.The occurrence of depression will not only affect the physical and mental health and social function of adolescents,but also produce suicidal ideation and suicidal behavior in severe cases.Therefore,it is necessary to study the mechanism of depression in high school students.Previous studies have shown that perceived social support and basic psychological needs are protective factors for the occurrence of depression in high school students.Based on this,this study focuses on investigating the influence of understanding social support on high school students’ depression,further analyzing the mechanism of basic psychological needs in it,and on this basis,conducting group counseling intervention research to reduce the level of depression in high school students.This study consists of two sub-studies.In the first study,750 high school students from a middle school in Wuchang District of Wuhan were selected as the research objects,and the relationship between perceived social support,depression and basic psychological needs was explored.Twenty-four subjects(with low basic psychological needs and high levels of depression)were selected from study 1 and randomly divided into two groups for study 2,in which the experimental group received group counseling intervention of basic psychological needs for eight times,and the control group received treatment unrelated to intervention.The data of experimental group and control group were collected and analyzed.The research conclusions are as follows:(1)There is a significant correlation between perceived social support,basic psychological needs and depression among senior high school students.(2)Perceived social support significantly negatively predicted high school students’depression;Comprehension of social support significantly positively predicted basic psychological needs;Basic psychological needs negatively predict depression.(3)The basic psychological needs of senior high school students played a partial mediating role in the relationship between perceived social support and depression(4)Group counseling can significantly improve the satisfaction degree of basic psychological needs,and then reduce the depression level of senior high school students. | Keywords/Search Tags: | Perceived social support, Basic psychological needs, Depression, Group counseling | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
