| As the global ecosystem continues to change,the number of insects is decreasing rapidly,and natural ecosystems are facing catastrophic threats.Insects have a major impact on agricultural production and human health.In order to understand the current survival status of insects,more and more entomological documents need professional translation.Taking Worldwide Decline of the Entomofauna: A Review of Its Drivers(Excerpts)as a translation case,this report applies Newmark’s semantic translation and communicative translation theories to summarize how to apply strategy in the practical translation,so that to conclude its rules,find entomological literature translation characteristics and difficulties,explore the methods and techniques of entomological literature translation,provide more reference cases for this field from different dimensions,and provide featured translation versions for cross-cultural communication in entomology.Based on the practice of English-Chinese translation,the report introduces the practice process,analyzes the translation strategies and summarizes the translation practice.The report is divided into five parts: task description,methodology,translation process,translation strategy analysis and translation practice summary.The purpose is to develop the translation methods of translators in the field of entomology,enhance the level of translators’ translation skills,discover and summarize the difficulties and rules of practical translation,and contribute to the cross-cultural academic exchanges. |
