The rapid development of science and technology makes smart phones become indispensable tools for people,and there is a great demand for smart phones in both domestic and international markets.The sales volume of smart phones of Xiaomi Group was 124.5 million,ranking fourth in the world in 2019.In view of the popularity of smart phones and the developmental potential of the company,the author chooses Lei Jun’s public speech “Move Forward Boldly” as her materials for the simulated consecutive interpreting.This report consists of five chapters.The first chapter is task description,introducing this simulated interpreting,linguistic features of the public speech and requirements for interpreting the speech.The second chapter describes the process of the simulated interpreting,including pre-interpreting preparation,during-interpreting description and post-interpreting assessment.The pre-interpreting contains collecting the background about Lei Jun and the target listeners,and preparing for terminology.The third chapter introduces the Triangular Model of the Interpretative Theory and its application to the simulated interpreting.The fourth chapter is case analysis,the main body of the report.Using typical and vivid examples,the author illustrates how she adopts the interpreting strategies of speculation,addition,semantic interpretation,sentence reconstruction,explication of logical relations and supplement for incomplete information to complete her interpreting.The fifth chapter is conclusion,summarizing the author’s gains and losses in the simulated interpreting and pointing out how to make progress in the future.
