A Report On The E-C Translation Of Modern Perspectives On Virtual Communications And Social Networking (Chapter Ⅱ & Chapter Ⅳ)

In recent years,the needs and related researches of online social network are increasing rapidly with the rapid development of information technology.The text of this translation report is selected from Modern Perspectives on Virtual Communications and Social Networking.In this book,the translator selects the second chapter and the fourth chapter,which gives a comprehensive introduction to the application of virtual communication and social network in business,education and society.The text also focuses on the design and application of online social network,covering a wide range,strong professionalism and extensive reference.This translation report is divided into four parts: task description,translation process,case analysis and conclusion.In the case study,under the guidance of Toury’s theory of translation norms,the translator analyzes the translation works from three aspects,namely,the normalization of names translation,the rationalization of implied information and the specialization of annotation translation.As for the translation of names,following the principles of “name follows the master”,“Convention” and“industry standard”,the translator uses different methods to solve the difficulties in the translation of names,such as transliteration,decomposition and synthesis,and back translation.In response to implicit information,the translator uses explicit,amplification,sentence reconstruction and adjustment techniques to deal with the implicit logical relations and related information in the text.In the process of annotation,the translator adopts different translation strategies for citation notes and explanatory notes.In the process of translation practice,the translator strives to convey information accurately and standardize the specialization of science text.The purpose of this translation report is to inform people of the virtual communication and social network,and provide some help for the future translation of similar texts.
