Bruno de Nicola published the book of Women in Mongol Iran: The Khātūns,1206-1335 in 2017.In this book,he gives a detailed description of the activities about the Mongol ruler?s wives(khātūns),especially their activities in Ilkhanate. The translator selects the chapter four of this book for translation practice. The chapter four mainly introduces how Mongolian women in Iran use ordos to accumulate and transfer wealth. The book?s translation has not been found yet. This report is a translation report. This report analyzes the difficulties encountered in the process of translation, and summarizes some appropriate translation methods. After repeated reading, the translator finally divides the translation difficulties into three levels: the lexical level, syntactic level and discourse level. This source text is related to history. It is an important task for translators to translate culture-loaded words, proper nouns, long and difficult sentences containing historical facts, and deal with the cohesion and coherence of the text. Finally, the translator tries to solve the difficulties in the lexical level, syntactic level and discourse level by transliteration, annotation and substitution and other translation techniques.By completing the whole practice report, the translator not only learned a lot about Mongolian history, but also gained translation experience.First of all, before translation, the translator should collect material and master relevant information, which is very important for the follow-up work.Secondly, the translator should revise the translation repeatedly from the perspective of writing. However, due to the limited translation ability of the translator and the lack of proficiency in transliteration and annotation, some translations are not fluent enough in expression. Finally, the report not only improves the translator?s English-Chinese translation ability, but also introduces Mongolian history to the target language readers.
