| When overseas students come to China to study Chinese,they often encounter unfamiliar Chinese characters or words in the process of Reading Chinese,which is unavoidable.Dictionary reference cannot improve students’ reading ability in the short term,while guessing words plays an important role in solving this problem.Word guessing strategy refers to the means and skills used by second language learners to guess the meaning of words when they encounter new words in the process of reading.Word guessing is an important reading skill,and mastering certain word guessing skills can help second language learners improve their reading comprehension.This article uses the classroom teaching experiment,questionnaire investigation,case interview and comparative analysis research method,to T university international education college Chinese language and Chinese language level,below level in HSK4,HSK4 and above HSK5 three stages respectively as the subjects of international students,for their usage of word guessing strategy in reading Chinese do quantitative research and comparative analysis.It mainly includes using the method of classroom teaching experiment to explain the necessity of developing special training of word meaning guessing.A questionnaire was sent to foreign students of the fourth grade of Chinese language major in the School of International Education,University of T to investigate their solutions to new words in Chinese reading and their use of guessing strategies in reading.By using the methods of reading test and interview,this paper investigates whether the foreign students in T University can correctly and efficiently use the guessing strategy under the condition of natural reading.The research shows that the frequency of foreign students’ use of word guessing strategies increases gradually with the improvement of their Chinese proficiency,and the development of Chinese proficiency and the use type and order of word guessing strategies show certain characteristics and rules.Three stages of foreign students in the usage of word guessing strategy in reading Chinese differences,different levels can be more fully reveal the foreign students to read the word guessing,I according to these characteristics to explore some feasible Suggestions,in order to promote Chinese reading class teachers in different stages of students to carry out the corresponding teaching,use effective type of training to help international students improve the ability of second language reading level,so as to achieve the teaching effect of get twice the result with half the effort. |
