This report is based on the simulation consecutive interpretation practice of an interview entitled "What is the ’Higher’ in Higher Education".The practical task is to interpret the academic forum on higher education.The speakers speak fast,and the content covers a wide range of professional fields,which increases the difficulty of interpretation.Through this practice,the author exposed some problems,including the words fail to convey the idea,omission and mistranslation.The author classifies the reasons into language level and non language level.The language level is about: improper handling of professional vocabulary and unfamiliar words;difficulty in analyzing long sentences with complex grammatical structure.At the non linguistic level,there are two aspects: one is the lack of relative knowledge;the other is the improper distribution of energy,which involves distribute too much energy in taking notes.In view of the above problems,the author reflected on the practice based on correlative reference,summarized the corresponding strategies to improve language ability and non language ability.In this report,the author analyzes the practice from four parts: task introduction,process description,case analysis,summary and reflection.The author concludes that to be a professional interpreter,learners not only need solid language knowledge,but also plenty of extra-linguistic knowledge.In the process of comparative analysis of the source language and the target language and writing,the author is more aware of his shortcomings,and will use the summarized methods to guide the future study and work of interpreting.
