The Corporate Service Corps was launched by IBM in 2008. As a part of Corporate Citizen Portfolio, the aim is to help communities around the world solve critical problems while providing IBM employees unique leadership development opportunities.It is the 28th team of IBM CSC project in China, which is also the second time for this project to settle in Nanning. The author was quite lucky to be one of the interns and shared the interpretation work with other intern for the work and life of the IBMers in Nanning. In order to evaluate the interpretation quality, the author recorded the voice of most meetings during the project.In the form of interpreting project report, this dissertation centers on 5 aspects, namely task description, preparation introduction, case study, post-interpreting evaluation and conclusion. In the case study part, the author analyzes from two aspects, one is linguistic knowledge and the other is extra linguistic knowledge. In linguistic knowledge, the author categorizes it into lexical difficulties and syntactic difficulties. In this part, some typical problems the interpreter may encounter like figures, abbreviations, humor and long and difficult sentence are analyzed. Moreover, the author employs theories including Gile’s Comprehension Equation, Deverbalization of Interpretive Thoery to explore the coping tactics to the aforementioned problems. In extra linguistic knowledge, the author reviews and analyzes her interpretation performance from the perspective of encyclopedia knowledge, theme knowledge and occasion knowledge. Finally, the paper came to a conclusion. The author hopes that this paper can provide some enlightenment and inspiration for her fellow practitioners.
