Research On The Setting Of Exercises In Advanced Comprehensive Teaching Materials For Teaching Chinese As A Foreign Language

Comprehensive course is the main course of teaching Chinese as a foreign language and plays a supporting role in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.From the existing research,I find that there are many studies on the comprehensive textbooks of Chinese as a foreign language,but few papers on the study of exercises in the comprehensive textbooks of advanced Chinese.Therefore,this paper selects the exercises in the three representative sets of advanced Chinese comprehensive textbooks at present,namely,"The Road to Success","Developing Chinese,Advanced Comprehensive" and "Boya Chinese,Advanced Flight" as the research object.Through descriptive analysis,data statistics and comparative analysis,the paper makes a comparative analysis on the quantity,type,form,comprehensive training level and language elements of the exercises,so as to reveal their similarities and differences,discover the advantages and disadvantages of each set of teaching materials,and put forward corresponding improvement suggestions.The author finds that the number of cultural factors in the exercises of "The Road to Success" is much more than that in the other two sets of textbooks.There are special Chinese character exercises in "Developing Chinese",but not in the other two sets of textbooks.Compared with the other two sets of textbooks,word practice in "Boya Chinese" has its own characteristics.The practice contents of the three sets of textbooks are basically arranged according to the order of words,phrases,sentences,discourse expression and language communication,reflecting the characteristics of gradual progress from the shallow to the deep.In the three sets of textbooks,there are more exercises on words and grammar,but few on pragmatics.In view of these similarities and differences and advantages and disadvantages,the author thinks that the compilation of advanced Chinese teaching materials should be based on the current basis to do the following points: 1.Continue to strengthen pronunciation;2.Strengthen the practice of Chinese characters;3.Vocabulary and grammar exercises should be more flexible;4.Distinguish and use different styles correctly;5.Add cultural factors;6.Options should be set carefully;7.Increase the matching degree with HSK test questions;8.The difficulty and the amount of questions about antonyms should be controlled within an appropriate range.
