Abstract/Summary:
The English Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2011 Edition)mentions that the English curriculum is instrumental and humanistic.Although the compulsory education curriculum standards have been promulgated for ten years,but the phenomenon of“valuing instrumental orientation over humanism” still exists.In junior high school English classroom teaching,there is a lack of cultivation of students’ cultural knowledge,thinking quality,emotions,attitudes and values,which is not conducive to the overall development of students.The quality of English teaching in junior middle school depends on the improvement of English teachers’ teaching design ability.It is worth thinking about how teachers reflect the humanity of the curriculum in the design of English teaching.This study takes 30 junior high school English teachers from a middle school in Hanzhong as the research subject,and the research questions mainly include:(1)What is the status of the teaching design ability of junior high school English teachers based on humanities?(2)What are the problems with the ability of junior high school English teachers to design humanistic teaching? Why?(3)How to improve the teaching design ability of English teachers from the perspective of humanism?In this study,the research on the teaching design ability of junior high school English teachers was carried out through questionnaire survey method,interview method and classroom observation method,and the study found that there are many problems in the teaching design ability of junior high school English teachers from the perspective of humanistic.The teaching design lacks multiple methods,and the teaching content and the teaching activity ignore humanism.The English teachers lack of evaluation and reflection ability.After attributing the above problems,it is found that the factors affecting the teaching design ability of English teachers in junior middle school based on humanism mainly include pre-service training for teachers,the school training and the personal factors of teachers.Finally,this study provides some suggestions for improving the teaching design ability of English teachers in junior middle schools based on humanism.The research puts forward the feasible scheme from the aspects of colleges,education-related departments,schools and teachers,in order to improve the teaching design ability of junior high school English teachers based on humanism.
