This translation report is based on the English-Chinese translation of the excerpt of For the Love of Friends,a humorous novel. From the perspective of Threedimensional Transformations of Eco-translatology,it explores translation strategies and methods of humor. The analytical framework includes three dimensions, namely, the language(the difference between English and Chinese),culture(the cultural difference between English and Chinese)and communicative meanings of humorous utterances in the text.Through the exploration,it aims to make the style of the translated text be similar to that of the original text.At the same time, the expressions of the translated text can be in line with the language habits of the target language,so as to meet target readers’ expectation of humor. The language dimension is divided into three parts: lexical ecology, sentence ecology and discourse ecology. On the lexical level, the translator can employ methods like vocabulary substitution,four-character conversion and transformation of part of speech to improve the readability of the translated text.On the sentence level,by adjusting sentence structure and conversing sentence pattern and order, humor can be delivered more effectively.Besides,on the discourse level, the translator should also focus on the style of translated text and add punctuations, symbols and descriptive words, making the humorous plot more compact and appealing. In terms of cultural dimension, based on the knowledge of cultural differences, cultural void and accumulated expressions, the translator can employ normal forms like descriptive and substitutional translation and change special expressions to ensure correct understanding of the original text by target readers. At last,in terms of communicative dimension, the translation of dialogues should follow the thinking pattern of the target language. Moreover,on the logical level, logical relations and conjunctions can be changed to improve the humorous effect. And by deepening, deducting and descripting the humor expressions, the overall humorous effect will be more intense, forming a more vivid humorous plot for target readers to read.
