Abstract/Summary:
The academic circles rarely explore the religious culture of the Bai people from a holistic perspective. However, from a practical perspective, the religious culture of the Bai people exists in a state of pluralism and blending, which needs to be understood and grasped as a whole. Therefore, this article uses the perspective of religious ecology to discuss the relationship and causes of various religious cultures in the village from the aspects of devotional belief, ancestral ghost belief,Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism belief, taking Dali Gusheng Village as a field point.Through an ethnographic description of the village’s spiritual system, temple layout, and ceremonial activities, this paper finds that the various religious cultures in the Bai village represented by Gusheng Village are a multi-symbiotic relationship, and the core belief is the core. With the core belief of the Lord as the core, they jointly constitute an interdependent religious ecosystem in the village, and foreign religions account for a small proportion in the Bai village. The reasons for forming the characteristics of this religious ecosystem are related to the fact that the Bai people live in a multi-ethnic settlement and multi-cultural exchange environment, and on the other hand,it is also related to the long-term cultural consciousness of the Bai people. This also enlightens the author that to maintain the dynamic balance of the religious ecosystem in ethnic areas,it is necessary to adhere to the national religious policy, promote the excellent ethnic traditional culture, maintain harmonious ethnic relations, and strengthen communication and exchanges between ethnic cultures.
