| The U.S.security policy-making process is very complex.Although the executive and legislative branches play a decisive role,the influence of think tanks that influence the decisions of these departments can not be underestimated.In recent years,think tanks have increasingly played an indispensable role in U.S.security policy decision-making.For example,the impact of Center for Strategic and International Studies can be seen everywhere.This nearly 60-year-old research center has played a pivotal role in the U.S.security policy process many times.However,experts and scholars at home and abroad mainly focus on the basic operational framework of the Center,while there is little in-depth study of its impact on U.S.security policy.Taking Center for Strategic and International Studies for example among the many influencing factors,this paper illustrated two examples,the decision-making process in the Iraq war and Obama period,and analyzed the ways and channels of the think tank to influence US security policy through enumerating a large number of facts and data.Meanwhile,it summarizes the ways and importance of the security policy,and summarizes its impact on the US security policy,how to influence and what extent.In addition,it also explores the inadequate impact of the research center on US security policy decision-making and its causes.At the end of the paper,we return to the general observation and summarize the general ways in which think tanks influence US security policy,and evaluate the different impacts.Think tanks exert a subtle and indispensable influence on American public policy decision-making,especially on foreign and security decision-making.The study and analysis of such influence will help to explain the general law of think tank’s influence on decision-making,and build a clearer picture of the relationship between American think tanksand American decision-making system in order to reveal the interaction between American think tanks and American decision-making system.Our country is in the crucial period of deepening reform and the transformation stage of economic growth.The Party Central Committee and the State Council are demanding more and more scientific decision-making,democratic decision-making and decision-making according to law.As an important part of the modern national governance system,think tanks have been paid more and more attention by domestic insightful people.This study may be of some reference significance for speeding up the establishment of new think tanks with Chinese characteristics,improving the ability of national governance,and providing intellectual support to think tanks in terms of national security policies to meet the needs of national strategies. |
