| The cultural exchanges between China and South Korea have a long history,and they face each other across the Yellow Sea.Since China and South Korea established diplomatic ties in 1992,based on political stability,cultural commonality,abundant resources and convenient transportation,China and South Korea have been closely involved in inbound and outbound tourism,and have gradually become become important tourist destination and source country to each other.At the same time,the change of China-South Korea relations also caused the fluctuation of the bilateral tourism.In recent years,there have been many hot issues attracting attention in the development of China-South Korea relations,which has caused significant impacts on bilateral tourism.So how does the relationship between China and South Korea affect bilateral tourism? What difference will the change of bilateral relations make to South Korea’s tourists to China and Chinese tourists to South Korea? For different types of Chinese and Korean tourists,how affected are they?With these questions in mind,on the one hand,this paper will sort out the political and diplomatic relations,economic and trade relations,social and cultural relations,military and security relations between China and the South Korea since the establishment of diplomatic relations,and summarize the development of bilateral tourism.On the other hand,The data on the number of tourists from China and South Korea from 1992 to the present will be selected to construct the background trend lines of South Korea’s tourists to China and Chinese tourists to South Korea,and the tourists will be divided according to gender,age,travel motivation and mode.Based on the theory of Tourism Background Trend Line,the quantitative and qualitative analysis methods are used to focus on the changes brought about by the fluctuation of the relationship between China and South Korea on bilateral tourism and the difference in the impact of different types of tourists.The study found that:(1)China-South Korea relations have not identical impacts on bilateral tourism.Political and diplomatic relations are the fundamental factors,economic and trade relations are the main factors,social and cultural relations are important factors,military security relationship is a significant factor affecting inbound and outbound tourism.(2)The fluctuations in the tourist flow from South Korea to China and from China to South Korea are different.The growth rate of tourist flow from South Korea to China is first fast and then slow,while the growth rate of tourist flow from China to South Korea is first slow and then fast.After 2013,Chinese tourist flow to South Korea is larger than that of South Korea’s travel to China.In the face of fluctuations in China-South Korea relations,the number of increases or losses is greater,and the impact of the changes is greater.(3)The relationship between China and South Korea affects different types of bilateral tourists differently.When faced with changes in China-South Korea relations,female tourists are more sensitive and more responsive.45-64 year-old tourists react more to financial crisis and health security risks,while 25-44 year old tourists are more sensitive to cultural exchange activities and military conflicts.The fluctuations in the relationship between China and South Korea have a greater impact on leisure and tourism tourists,and the rate of increase and loss is higher.The tourists who take planes account for the largest proportion,Incheon Airport receives the largest number of Chinese tourists,and Jeju Airport has the most obvious change of tourists flow when facing the change of China-South Korea relations.According to the research conclusion,at the end of the paper,countermeasures were put forward to promote the stabilization or growth of bilateral tourist flows of China and South Korea from three levels: government,tourism management department,and tourism enterprises. |
