Japan’s Cultural Diplomacy To China And Sino-Japanese Relations Since The Establishment Of Diplomatic Relations Between China And Japan

After the World War Ⅱ,with the growing desire for peace in all countries of the world,the position of military and other hard power in the international community has decreased significantly,and culture’s position as soft power in international relations has been increasingly prominent.Culture in a country’s foreign exchanges,not only as a "front-line soldier",but also has been affecting the formulation of the country’s foreign strategy.Culture also plays an important role in the international community with its subtle and silent character,so cultural diplomacy has also become an important pillar of national diplomacy.Based on the development of Japanese cultural diplomacy after the war,this paper makes an in-depth study and analysis on the motivation and stage,mode and path,effectiveness and limitation of Japan’s cultural diplomacy with China,discusses the influence of Japan’s cultural diplomacy with China on Sino-Japanese relations,and the enlightenment it brings to the development of China’s cultural diplomacy in the course of Japan’s cultural diplomacy.In the process of cultural diplomacy,Japan makes full use of its resources and technological endowment advantages,promotes the combination of traditional culture and popular culture in Japan,and constantly absorbs and learns from foreign cultures to form a culture with Japanese characteristics.In the course of exchanges between China and Japan,Japan has tried to ease the Chinese people’s hostile attitude towards China,glorify its own negative national image,achieve its political and economic interests in China,expand its influence in China,and thus curb China’s peaceful rise.In the face of Japan’s strong cultural diplomacy offensive,our country should face rationally,learn from Japan’s successful experience in cultural diplomacy,attach importance to and formulate a clear cultural diplomacy strategy,build and improve the implementation mechanism of cultural diplomacy strategy,expand the scale of cultural industry,and carry out multi-channel cultural diplomacy.In the process of establishing cultural self-confidence in our country,we can deal with the impact of heterogeneous civilization on our country skillfully.For Japan,which has a similar origin of civilization to our country,how to improve the understanding and response to its culture is one of the key issues to promote the development of China’s cultural cause and enhance cultural self-confidence.
