Research On The Mechanism Of New Able Villagers’ Participation In Rural Governance ——A Case Study Of Village A In Fujian Province

Rural society is an important part of China’s overall society,its stability and development including the governance and construction of rural areas are the key issues for China,the largest developing country in the world,whose aim is to realize modernization and comprehensively well-off society.Since Guang Ming Daily published a series of reports on New Able Villagers New Village and placed them in a prominent position on the edition,the villages across China have been actively making full use of new able villagers to promote rural revitalization.Against this backdrop,Village A mentioned in this thesis has established Revitalization Promotion Committee and through this mechanism exerted new able villages’ effects on the governance,and has promoted the stability and development of village with the joint efforts by the township people’s government,the Chinese Communist Party Branch Committee in village,the Villagers’ Self-government Committee and the elderly villagers association.Based on this,the research question in this thesis is the mechanism of new able villagers’ participation in rural governance,while the research objective is to explore the causes behind it and its relationship with various governance forces.As for the research method,qualitative research methods such as observation,in-depth interviews and participatory research are mainly used.In addition,questionnaires are conducted to collect relevant village records,genealogy and other first-hand research data.To begin with,this thesis identifies the definition of new able villager and then makes an in-depth analysis of the origin of new able villagers’ participation in rural governance from the macro-level of country and the micro-level of village.To draw a conclusion,this thesis summarizes how new able villagers in Village A participate the governance of village affairs through the mechanism of Revitalization Promotion Committee.As a result,this thesis believes that as a think tank of the Chinese Communist Party Branch Committee in village and the Villagers’ Self-government Committee,new able villagers in Village A cooperate with the township people’s government,the Chinese Communist Party Branch Committee in village,the Villagers’ Self-government Committee and elderly villagers association,and form a model that unites them all to help Village A achieve governance.In the end,this thesis presents some achievements realized by new able villager’ participation in rural governance in Village A,and summarizes the phenomenon of new able villagers participating in rural governance.Accordingly,based on the current situation,this thesis believes that new able villagers indeed promote the revitalization and development of village through the mechanism of Revitalization Promotion Committee.But at the same time the author suggests that we can’t ignore the problems that may arise.With limited knowledge and research ability to the analysis of new able villagers’ participation in rural governance and excavation of case value,the author hopes more experts and scholars could continue to explore this issue in depth and provide theoretical support for new able villagers participation in rural governance,in order to achieve the goal of rural revitalization in China.
