Research On Deng Xiaoping’s Political Modernization Thought

The basic connotation of political modernization is the political change and development of society in the overall transformation of modernization.During the period of reform and opening up,Deng Xiaoping considered the "big problem" of the definition and distribution of power,rights and interests with the unique strategic vision and broad mind of the Communists,explored the path of political modernization with Chinese characteristics,and formed a unique "principle" of political modernization.From the perspective of political modernization,this article preliminarily analyzes and summarizes the theoretical results of Deng Xiaoping’s exploration and practice of political modernization in the new period.The source of Deng Xiaoping’s political modernization thinking is the political legitimacy caused by the difficulty of the traditional socialist development model to adapt to the needs of modernization.The incoordination between the political system and the economic system reform in the reform and opening-up and the surging of diversified social thoughts at the beginning of the reform and opening-up are the specific situations for their thinking.The goal pursued by Deng Xiaoping’s political modernization is to consolidate the party’s leading position by establishing a dynamic and efficient political system,building a full democracy,a complete legal system,and forming a more mature and stereotyped system.The corresponding implementation path includes four dimensions: upholding and improving the party’s leadership,improving government efficiency,democratic construction and legal system construction,which constitute a relatively complete path implementation framework.The basic principles that need to be followed for the implementation of the path are "steps,leadership,and orderly progress",adhere to the party’s leadership,proceed from specific national conditions,and adhere to the principle of gradual reform.Deng Xiaoping’s political modernization thought has important enlightenment significance to the current modernization of national governance.Deng Xiaoping’s political modernization thought profoundly revealed theoretically the internal connection between economic modernization and political modernization,clearly pointed out the important relationship between ideological work and political reform and development,scientifically defined the basic and specific systems of socialism,and initially clarified the party.The dialectical relationship between leadership,people’s democracy and rule of law.Deng Xiaoping’s political modernization thoughts,especially the views on reforms,systems,and authority,have important enlightenments for the current adherence to comprehensively deepening reforms,advancing the modernization of national governance,and strengthening the party’s political construction: comprehensively deepening reforms requires both systemicity and operability,and modernization of national governance The values of democracy and the rule of law need to be promoted,and the modernization of national governance needs to strengthen the political authority of the Party Central Committee.
