Relocation of poverty alleviation through relocation means that poor residents living in areas with poor living conditions can change their place of residence,improve their living environment,and change the backwardness of the poor in mountainous areas.The successful relocation,stable settlement,and wealthy life of the poor are related to the success or failure of the poverty alleviation and relocation project in China.The richness of life is closely related to the sustainability of the livelihood choices of the relocated farmers.It is also an important evaluation criterion for the effectiveness of the relocation poverty reduction project.The report of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China pointed out that it is the solemn promise of the Communist Party of China to fight the poverty alleviation campaign and allow the poor areas of the country to enter a well-off society in an all-round way;adhere to targeted poverty alleviation to ensure that the rural poor in China will truly escape poverty by 2020 and solve the overall poverty problem in the region.Therefore,in order to win the battle against poverty in poor areas,the key is to transfer the poor to high-quality areas.With the help of the government and society,they can improve their living ability,optimize their livelihood strategies,help them escape poverty and become rich,and realize their livelihoods.Sustainability.This paper draws on the theory of sustainable livelihoods,borrows the theoretical framework of sustainable livelihoods proposed by DFID,and uses Meigu County,Liangshan Prefecture,Sichuan Province as a case study background to carry out sustainable livelihoods for farmers in ex-situ poverty alleviation resettlement areas in Meigu County.the study.Through visits and surveys,the livelihood status and livelihood strategies of farmers in the study area were obtained.Based on the theoretical framework of sustainable livelihoods,this paper conducts a targeted questionnaire design and sets the model indicator dimensions in terms of farmers’ livelihood capital.According to the actual impact situation and literature analysis and research,subsistence capital is further subdivided into physical capital,social capital,financial capital,natural capital,and human capital.Based on a sample of 190 farmers in Meigu County,Liangshan Prefecture,Sichuan Province,who participated in ex-situ poverty alleviation and relocation,using SPSS22.0 software to analyze the questionnaire data,the study found that:(1)Among the livelihood capital of ex-situ farmers,the livelihood capital is generally low Farmers ’human capital is large in quantity but low in quality;natural capital is large in quantity but poor in quality due to the harsh natural environment;social capital is relatively large,but actual utilization is not optimistic;financial capital and physical capital are relatively small.At present,farmers in Meigu County mainly adopt agricultural livelihood strategies and non-single agricultural livelihood strategies.(2)Farmers choose their livelihood strategies based on their own livelihood capital.Differences in livelihood capital determine differences in farmers’ livelihood strategies.Human capital,physical capital,and financial capital have the most significant impact on non-single agricultural farmers ’livelihood strategy choices,while social capital and natural capital have no significant impact on farmers’ choice of non-single agricultural livelihoods.According to relevant research conclusions,the following policy suggestions are put forward:(1)Improve cultural and physical quality,and improve human resources of farmers.(2)Increasing the source of income of farmers and increasing the amount of financial capital of farmers.(3)Improve land quality,quantity and value of land,and improve farmers’ natural capital conditions.(4)Establish a stable social relationship network and broaden the social capital of farmers.(5)Optimize the infrastructure construction of rural household resettlement areas and promote the accumulation of total physical capital of rural households.
