| As a matter of fact,the Brexit process that started in 2017 after the referendum in2016,and officially announced in the beginning of 2020 was full of twists and turns.The Brexit process reflected the tangle between Britain and the European Union,as well as the British people’s scruple about whether to participate in European integration.After the 21 st century,with the development of economy and technology and the change of human society,the world pattern was also in a profound change.This kind of change brought more risks and challenges to European integration.The direction of the development of European rationality has also quietly changed,and the onward trend of the evolution of rationality was turning to retrograde side.This paper continues to extend the concept of the degeneration of European rationality and analyzes the relationship between the evolution of rationality,the degeneration of rationality,European integration and Brexit.On the basis of the present research of the paper topic,this paper focuses on the causes and effects of the shift in the trend of European rationality development,trying to find out the real causes of Brexit.This paper is divided into three parts: the first part discusses the relationship between the evolution of rationality and European integration.At first,the first part explains the concept,the typical characteristic of the evolution of rationality and the causal relationships with European integration,then compares the failure of European integration before World War II with the success of European integration after World War II.The finding is that the key to the success of European integration after World War II lies in the maturity of the evolution of rationality.The second part discusses the relationship between the degeneration of rationality and European integration.At first,the second part analyzes the relationship between the degeneration of rationality and the evolution of rationality.Secondly,by retrospecting the historical origin of the degeneration of rationality in European integration process,this part analyzes the reasons why the development of rationality has changed from evolution to retrogression in combination with the current social reality.The findings are that the internal contradictions in the EU caused by the external crisis and evolution of rationality beyond its own limits are the mind causes for the degeneration of rationality,but the degeneration is temporary and not enough to change the evolutionary trend of European rationality as a whole.The third part discusses the relationship between the degeneration of rationality and Brexit.At first,the third part makes a comparative analysis of the order of rationality between Britain and European continent in the process of Britain’s participation in European integration.Secondly,it demonstrates the causes of Brexit in the view of the degeneration of rationality.The findings are that there is a fundamental conflict between the order rationality between Britain and European continent.The degeneration of rationality caused by the crisis of European integration is one of the real cause of Brexit,and UK-EU relationship after Brexit will be affected by the trend of the degeneration of rationality. |
