A Study On The Evolution Of The Connotation Of Space Justice Of The Neo-Marxist Urban School

After World War II,capitalist urban crises occur one after another,and the outbreak of potentially unjust urban space problems,such as urban space deprivation,alienation and struggle,has aroused the attention and thinking of the Neo-Marxist urban school to the urban space under the capital logic.They criticized the traditional Chicago urban school,combined Marxism with urban space problems,and promoted the proposal and development of the concept of urban spatial justice.Urban spatial justice as the core topic of the Neo-Marxist urban school,it is of far-reaching practical significance to discuss this important concept from the connotation level.This paper mainly focuses on the urban spatial justice theory of Henry Lefebvre,David Harvey and Edward Soja,and compares and combs their interpretation of the connotation of urban spatial justice.Secondly,through the exposition of Lefebvre’s "the Space of difference",Harvey’s "the Space of Hope" and Soja’s "the third Space",this paper shows the utopian conception of the future urban spatial justice of the Neo-Marxist urban school.it directly shows their value of spatial justice.From Lefebvre,the initiator of urban spatial justice,to Soja,a postmodernist scholar,after more than half a century of evolution and development,the connotation of urban spatial justice gradually presents the evolution characteristics of the diversification of justice dimensions,the miniaturization of justice perspective and the globalization of justice places.Reviewing the evolution of the connotation of urban spatial justice will not only help to enrich the Marxist thought of justice,impact the traditional concept of space,and promote the disciplinary interaction between traditional geography and humanistic sociology.it is also beneficial to the construction and practice of urban spatial justice in China.At the same time,because the Neo-Marxist urban school’s understanding of Marxist historical materialism is not comprehensive enough,and there are still some theoretical limitations in the interpretation of spatial justice,we must take root in the context of socialism with Chinese characteristics,actively learn from the beneficial elements of the Neo-Marxist urban school in the process of constructing urban spatial justice,and strive to construct the discourse system of urban spatial justice in China.
