| With the theoretical innovation in the field of international relations,especially the rise of constructivism,analyzing the identity and interests of a country from a cultural perspective and further studying the interactive relationship between culture and state behavior has become one of the research fronts of international relationship theory.Strategic culture is a strategic thinking model formed and a complex of behavioral biases by the strategic decision makers of a country or a common actor based on the strategic values of shared,relatively stable and traditional historical values,combined with the objective strategic situation of their own interests and external environmental factors.To study and analyze a country’s strategic culture and analyze the country’s grand strategy from this perspective,it can not only explore the country’s strategic preferences and strategic choices more thoroughly,comprehensively and accurately,but also provide an important analytical framework and theoretical tool for analyzing the country’s strategic interests and behavior.Since Trump took office,the "Indo-Pacific" strategy of the United States has entered a new transition period.With regarding to the "Make America Great Again" as the ruling goal,the Trump administration adheres to what strategic ideas and strategic threat concepts,what strategic goals and strategic means to establish,and how to advance national security strategies.These issues have become the focus of scholars all over the world.This paper adopts the research method of explanatory case study,uses the theoretical view of the existing strategic culture and national security strategy to make an in-depth study of the relationship between the American strategic culture and the Trump administration’s Indo-Pacific strategy,and tries to fully understand the background,strategic objectives,strategic characteristics and the dilemma of the implementation of the strategy of the Trump Administration.First of all,the author has collected and organized related researches on the concept of strategic culture by domestic and foreign scholars,and derived an established concept about strategic culture.Based on this,the author further understand the source and influence of strategic culture.Then,applying the strategic culture theory to specific country studies,and fully understand the American strategic culture through the analysis paradigm of "horizontal" and "vertical" perspective.Finally,using the existing theoretical basis to the Trump administration’s Indo-Pacific strategy to conduct a comprehensive and in-depth study,as a "mirror",the Trump administration’s national security strategy to maintain an objective understanding and a calm analysis,so as to provide a good response to China. |
