Extracurricular reading is an important part of Chinese learning.A large number of reading can help readers accumulate rich language,form a good sense of language,broaden horizons,edify sentiment.Sticking to extracurricular reading is beneficial to the formation and development of children’s abilities in listening,speaking,reading and writing.In October 2017,Wen Rumin,the chief editor of the Chinese textbooks compiled by the ministry of education,said such a "shocking" thing at the launching ceremony of the writing contest held at Peking University:the Chinese college entrance examination shouldn’t be completed by 15%of the people.He also revealed that the college entrance examination involves a wider range of reading,all types of content may appear.The current college entrance examination requires students to read much more than the level of classroom learning.Cao Wenxuan,the editor of the high school textbook,stressed:"don’t say anything about not having time to read for exams.Now your child can’t cope with the exam without reading.For children who read little,do not read,do not think,write slowly and do not have a solid foundation in Chinese,the reform is not a nightmare but a trial.The overall reform of the college entrance examination has begun.More and more grim reality tells us that those who have been well in reading,he will win in Chinese learning and the college entrance examination.Interest is the best teacher.Only with a strong interest in reading can students make full use of the "east wind" of reading to go further.Well begun is half done.It is obviously a wise choice to develop students’interest in reading at the beginning of their reading.From this point of view,it is of great importance to cultivate the reading interest and capacity of primary school students,especially the lower grade students.There are five parts in this paper:the first part is a brife introduction,which mainly describes the current study at home and abord on the cultivation of students’extracurricular reading,and the methods and ideas adopted in this study.The second part has analyzed the characteristic of students’ extracurricular reading,such as independent,interesting and progressive.The third part has analyzed the problems existing in extracurricular reading and the main causes of the problems,combined with the situation of Wuchang Fruit Lake No.2 Primary School in Hubei Province through teachers’communication,student questionnaires,interview with parents and other ways.The fourth part has analyzed and summarized the principles of cultivating students’extracurricular reading,and puts forward five principles of targeted,sequential,motivated,interesting and living.On the basis of the above research,the fifth part of the paper tells the specific methods and strategies to cultivate the extracurricular reading of junior grade students in primary school in six aspects of the recommending normative reading books,guiding the correct reading methods,developing good reading habits,createing a good reading atmosphere,carrying out rich reading activities and establishing effective evaluation mechanism.
