Objective: to study the effects of five elements of tai chi on the physical and mental health of elderly women,explore the actual effect and mechanism of action,and provide theoretical basis for its development in elderly women.Further develop and enrich the effective fitness methods and methods for the elderly to promote the traditional health culture of the motherland.Methods: according to the experimental requirements,40 elderly women aged60-75 years from Huilongguan new village,Changping district,Beijing,who met the standard,were selected and divided into experimental group and control group 20 people each.The experimental group was given a five-element exercise for three months,five times a week,one hour at a time,and the control group did not carry out any regular exercise activities.The physical and mental health indexes before and after the experiment were tested,and the results were compared and analyzed statistically.Research results:1.In terms of physical shape indexes,waist circumference in the experimental group was significantly improved(P<0.05).Weight,waist circumference,hip circumference and abdominal pleat thickness were increased in the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference between the groups(P>0.05).2.In terms of physical function indexes,the pulse,systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure of the experimental group showed significant changes after the experiment(P<0.05),and the lung capacity showed significant improvement(P<0.01).There was no significant change in all the indicators in the control group(P>0.05).The lung capacity of the experimental group was significantly better than that of the control group(P<0.01),but there was no significant difference in other indexes(P>0.05).3.In terms of physical fitness indexes,the experimental group showed significant improvement in sitting forward flexion,right hand grip strength,standing time on one leg with eyes closed and response selection(P<0.01),and significant improvement in left hand grip strength and left hand back touch(P<0.05).There was no significant change in all indexes of the control group after the experiment(P>0.05).The right hand grip strength of the experimental group was significantly better than that of the control group(P<0.05),while the other indicators showed no significant difference(P>0.05).4.Among the dimensions of mental health,the experimental group showe d a significant increase in emotional factors(P<0.01),which was significantly better than the control group(P<0.05).Interpersonal factors and total score inc reased significantly(P<0.05),but there was no statistical significance compared with the control group(P>0.05),and there was no significant difference betw een the other factors(P>0.05).Conclusion: After 14 weeks of five elements tai chi exercise can effectively maintain and improve the physical health of the elderly women,delay aging;Reduce the generation of bad emotions and interference,produce good practice experience,promote interpersonal communication,improve mental health level;The method is a set of suitable for the elderly women to improve their physical and mental health.The research suggests: The five-element tai chi exercise is in line with the physical and mental characteristics of the elderly women and is favored by the practitioners.The effect of 14 weeks of exercise on the improvement of body shape index is not significant enough.A wider range of elderly people and other traditional sports were selected as the comparison,so as to comprehensively and objectively discuss the fitness effect of wuxing tai chi and design sports prescription.
