This thesis takes the adverbial acquisition of Huaming Chinese school pupils in Cambodia as the research object.In order to enrich the study on adverbial acquisition of Chinese school students in Cambodia,this thesis discusses the acquisition of adverbial in detail through the overview of Chinese school education background,brief analysis of teaching materials and error analysis.First,this thesis refers to previous studies,adverbial can be divided into 9 categories and 36 subcategories according to ideographic functions.We compare the arrangement of adverbials in the Chinese textbooks of the prima ry school and the arrangement in the teaching syllabus of Chinese as a foreign language.The results showed that the setting of adverbials in the textbook is not consistent with the arrangement requirements in the syllabus,the textbook not only lacks a cl ear explanation of the grammatical points of adverbials,but also the arrangement of adverbials in the textbook is too compact,especially the after-class exercises are few and lack of pertinence.Then,in order to better understand the different grades pr imary students’ acquisition of adverbials,two examination papers for different Chinese proficiency students were designed according to the arrangement of adverbial grammar points in the textbook,After analyzing the recovered test volumes,it was found that the students from grade 1 to grade 4 and grade 5 to grade 6 have different rules on the acquisition of certain adverbials.However,there are some similarities,such as: it is generally difficult to acquire adverbials of place,action and object,and the re is not much difference between different classes of students in the same level of Chinese;The main error type of adverbial acquisition is wrong order,The omission type and mis substitution type are next,The lower the grade students,the more likely to produce mis substitution error,which shows that students lack the ability to distinguish adverbial categories;The higher the grade students,the more the errors of adding,mixing and avoiding also increase,which shows that students are not good at comprehensive use of adverbials.In the end,on the basis of the reason analysis,this thesis puts forward some specific teaching suggestions,and selecting place adverbial which is difficult for the pupils to acquire as teaching design’s content for the sixth-grade students,which provides a reference for Cambodian pupils to better acquire adverbials of Chinese.
