Junior high school is a very important stage of individual psychological development.The sense of self-worth of junior high school students is an important part of their mental health,which should be paid more attention.Therefore,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to investigate the self-worth of junior high school students,to explore the factors that affect the self-worth,and to design a group psychological counseling program that can improve the level of self-worth of junior high school students according to the combination of theory and practice,to implement it,and to explore the path of individual intervention.This study first investigated 1000 junior high school students in four middle schools in Chongqing to understand the current situation and characteristics of self-worth of junior high school students;secondly,selected 400 junior high school students in Chongqing to investigate the relationship and intermediary role of social support between interpersonal relationship and self-worth;finally,selected 60 junior high school students with low self-worth in a middle school to explore the real situation In the experimental group,30 students intervened in interpersonal relationship and social support,so as to improve their sense of self-worth.In the control group,no intervention was carried out.In addition,a case consultation was made to supplement one of the members who had little harvest after participating in the group.The results are as follows:(1)About 17.7% of junior high school students have high self-worth and 14.9%have low self-worth.There are significant differences in demography variables of self-worth among junior high school students.(2)There are significant positive correlation among interpersonal relationship,social support and self-worth of junior high school students.To some extent,the level of interpersonal relationship and social support predict the level of self-worth.Interpersonal relationship has a direct impact on self-worth,and it can also indirectly affect self-worth through social support.There are some mediating effects among interpersonal relationship and self-worth among junior high school students’ objectivesupport,subjective support and utilization of support.(3)The group counseling in junior high school students’ total score of interpersonal relationship,conversation,communication,and social aspects have significantly improved.In terms of self-worth,the overall and general self-worth,personal oriented interpersonal self-worth and social oriented interpersonal,psychological and physiological self-worth have been significantly improved.(4)The case consultation method of first mining resources and then dealing with problems has a good effect on junior high school students’ Self-worth intervention.
