The sudden outbreak of the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic from the end of 2019 to the beginning of 2020 has brought a huge impact to China’s economic development.Enterprises have suspended work and production,and schools have been suspended,which has brought great inconvenience to people’s work,study and life.What followed was a sharp drop in the demand for employers and an increase in employment pressure for fresh college graduates.This research is a qualitative study,which uses a purposeful sampling method to select 17 fresh graduates of social work majors from 12 universities in 5 cities as the research objects.The purpose of this research is to explore their job search experience in the context of the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic.Using Max Van Manen’s four dimensions of lived experience,the job search experience of fresh graduates of master’s degree in social work is divided into time level,space level,interpersonal level,and sensory level,in order to deeply explore their job search experience under the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic and the meaning behind it.The study found that the job search experience of fresh graduates of master’s degree in social work under the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic is mainly the time experience of panic and suffering,the spatial experience of depression and discomfort,the interpersonal experience of warmth and trouble,and the sensory experience of fatigue and harvest.The overall experience is to grow in tribulation.The job search experience of fresh graduates of master’s degree in social work in the context of the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic presents a single negative and complex combination of positive and negative characteristics in the four dimensions of time,space,interpersonal and sensory.To be specific,at the level of time and space,the single negative experience is dominant.While at the level of interpersonal and sensory body,positive experience and negative experience co-exist in a dual character.In addition,there is no clear boundary between different dimensions of job search experience,but mutual intersection.mutual influence.The presentation of the job search experience of the graduates of master’s degree in social work in the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic provides inspiration and thinking for the social work professional education of colleges and universities to deal with the employment problem under the public health incident.On the one hand,it is possible to enhance the core competence of social work majors from the perspective of the curriculum system and comprehensive ability training,such as adding courses related to public health social work and exploring the "Social Work+" courses to enhance their job-searching competitiveness under the epidemic;On the other hand,strengthen the job-searching education for social work graduates from both normal and abnormal perspectives,such as adding career planning courses and training to enhance the professional development awareness and ability of social work graduates;and provide targeted employment support for social work graduates in public health emergencies from the dimensions of time,space,interpersonal and sensory.
