| Social networking sites addiction is a common phenomenon among college students.In recent years,many college students addicted to social networking sites can not extricate themselves,and even endanger their lives.How to effectively alleviate college students’ social networking sites addiction has become a key task of schools and education departments.Based on the use satisfaction model and the cognitive behavior model,this study explores the internal performance of the use of social networking sites,upward social comparison and social networking sites addiction,as well as the mechanism of the three.The quantitative research adopts the questionnaire survey method to investigate 951 college students from Anhui,Shandong and other universities by the use of social networking sites scale,upward social comparison scale and social networking site addiction scale,to explore the relationship between the use of social networking sites,upward social comparison and social networking site addiction;the qualitative research is based on the quantitative research on 8 college students in depth interviews were conducted to further understand the internal psychological status of college students on the use of social networking sites,upward social comparison and social networking sites addiction,as well as the deep mechanism of the use of social networking sites and upward social comparison on social networking sites addiction,and put forward corresponding suggestions and Countermeasures.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The scores of College Students’ active social networking sites use,passive social networking sites use,upward social comparison and social networking sites addiction were lower than the critical median,and in the lower middle level.The detection rate of social network addiction among college students was 13.70%,and the addiction rate was not high.(2)There are significant differences in active social networking sites use,upward social comparison and social networking sites addiction among college students by gender and grade.In particular,female college students and senior students(sophomore,junior and senior)have higher scores than male college students and freshmen.Junior students score higher than senior students in social networking sites addiction;No difference was found in passive social networking sites use by gender and grade.There are also significant differences in the active social networking sites use among the only children,and the score of active social networking sites use of the only children is higher than that of the non-only children.(3)College Students’ active and passive social networking sites use positively predict social networking sites addiction,and upward social comparison also positively predict social networking sites addiction.Upward social comparison plays a partial mediating role between active and passive social networking sites use and social networking sites addiction.(4)The active social networking sites use is mainly reflected in positive presentation(JC),real presentation(ZC)and like comments(DP);Passive social networking sites use is mainly reflected in motivational use(DJ)and casual use(SY);Upward social comparison is mainly reflected in real upward comparison(ZB)and imaginary upward comparison(XB);Social networking sites addiction is mainly manifested in addictive behavior(CM),compulsive behavior(QP).(5)Active social networking sites use can lead to obsessive-compulsive and addictive behaviors,while passive social networking sites use can only lead to addictive behaviors;active and passive social networking sites use can lead to real upward comparison,while imaginary upward comparison is limited to passive social networking sites use;Upward social comparison can also lead to social networking sites Addiction is more addictive than compulsive.Therefore,according to the above research conclusions,this study puts forward the following suggestions on the prevention and alleviation of college students’ social networking sites addiction: Appropriate use of social networking sites,reasonable control of use behavior;Change their bad cognition,reduce upward social comparison;Build multi-party education platform,alleviate social networking sites addiction. |
