| Social anxiety is one of the most common anxiety disorders.Individuals with social anxiety show fear, avoidance of social activities and processing bias towards threatening stimuli. It is found that social anxiety has become an important problem affecting the mental health of college students.Attentional blink is a phenomenon of attention reflected in time dimension. If two target stimuli appear continuously in a certain time interval, the individual can often accurately identify the first target, while the recognition of the second target will decline.Attentional blink is a common phenomenon, but they will show different characteristics due to individual differences.Working memory is a system in which individuals store and process information temporarily. It plays an important role in some tasks involving advanced cognitive activities.Previous studies have shown that anxiety and working memory are two major factors affecting attentional blink, and there is a close relationship between them.In this study, college students with social anxiety were used as subjects.Three experiments were conducted to investigate the performance of individuals with social anxiety on emotional attentional blink and the effect of working memory on emotional attentional blink.Experiment 1 explored the differences between individuals with high and low social anxiety in the emotional attention blink using the Rapid Serial Visual Presentation.Experiment2 explored the cause of attentional blink and the effect of the interaction between working memory and emotion on attentional blink from the perspective of working memory capacity used AOSPAN task.Experiment 3 increased the working memory load to further verify the causes of attentional blink in individuals with social anxiety from the perspective of working memory resources. We draw some conclusions as following:(1)High social anxiety individuals and low social anxiety individuals have different attentional blink performance when faced with emotional information.High social anxiety individuals have negative attentional bias in time dimension.(2)There was no significant difference in working memory capacity between individuals with high and low social anxiety.Working memory capacity can regulate negative attentional bias in attention blink of social anxiety individuals.(3)Emotional attentional blink of individuals with social anxiety is influenced by working memory resources, which supports cognitive resource orientation. |
