Research On Disciplinary Construction Of Physical Discipline In British Universities

As the basic unit of the university,the subject is the support of teaching,scientific research,talent training and social service.Improving the level of discipline construction is of great significance to the overall development of my country’s universities and social progress.On August 18,2015,the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China comprehensively deepened the reform leading group meeting reviewed and approved the "Overall Plan for Promoting the Construction of World-Class Universities and First-Class Disciplines".The "Double First-Class"construction plan put forward strategic guidelines and guiding suggestions for my country’s higher education reform.It also clearly stated that discipline construction is the primary task of university reform,and the connotative development of higher education should be realized with discipline construction as the center.As one of the many disciplines in the university,physical education is responsible for the training of sports talents and the research of sports theory.The level of development of the physical education discipline is related to the training of the professional qualities and abilities of all types of sports workers at all levels,and the solution of a variety of realistic sports problems,and plays a key role in the development of the entire sports industry.In the 2021 QS World University Sports-related Subject Rankings,only 4 universities in China are in the top 120,and the rankings are low.The development of physical education disciplines in my country’s colleges and universities is bumpy,and the overall development level of the disciplines is not high.The construction of physical education disciplines still faces a series of problems.Learning the excellent experience of foreign sports discipline construction is conducive to the development of sports disciplines in China.The development level of sports disciplines in British universities has been recognized by many international authoritative evaluation institutions.For example,Loughborough University has ranked first in the QS World University Sports-related Discipline Rankings for five consecutive years,and many British universities are also on the list and at the forefront.The British sports discipline has experienced a long history of development and accumulated valuable development experience,representing the top international level of sports science.Based on this,this article conducts in-depth research on the case of six universities in the United Kingdom,combs the characteristics of the system in terms of subject positioning,professional setting,faculty,scientific research,and talent training.Through theoretical research and relevant case analysis,it analyzes the characteristics of university sports in my country.Discipline construction and development provide scientific advice and enlightenment.The research conclusions are as follows:1.The content of the construction of physical education disciplines in British universities includes:the discipline positioning focusing on comprehensive development,the professional setting of discipline integration and intersection,the construction of a multidisciplinary background faculty team,the pursuit of excellence in scientific research,and a diverse and open talent training model.2.The path for the construction of sports disciplines in British universities includes:cooperating with the government and social institutions to form an integrated operation mode,organically integrating coaches,athletes and other sports talent training systems,so that excellent scientific research becomes a strong support for discipline construction.3.The disciplinary development goals of physical education in British universities are established based on the concept of serving the society.The talent training process always combines basic theoretical teaching with practical ability training.4.The construction of sports disciplines in British universities presents a trend of interdisciplinary development,focusing on the comprehensive development of sports.From the perspective of curriculum settings,it covers multiple domains of curriculum knowledge and forms an interdisciplinary curriculum framework;from the perspective of scientific research,the scope of research is wide,and an interdisciplinary research system is formed.
