Because of the rapid development of science and technology,knowledge is updated more quickly.In the information age,a new concept of learning has been put forward,and new models of education have been constantly introduced which is also true in Xinjiang.Ethnic minority college students going out from Xinjiang are the pillars of the future development of Xinjiang and China as a whole.Training them to become talents to adapt to the future development of society is the focus and main direction of talent training in preparatory education at present.Cultivating students’ desire and ability of lifelong learning requires us to stimulate students’ learning motivation,arouse students’ enthusiasm,enable students to take the initiative to participate in learning activities,maintain their enthusiasm for learning for a long time and be full of continuous internal motivation in the learning process.The purpose of this paper is to investigate the students’ learning motivation of secondary vocational preparatory classes in Xinjiang higher vocational colleges,analyze the factors that influence the students’ learning motivation of secondary vocational preparatory classes in this area,and analyze the existing problems and countermeasures that should be taken.This paper mainly adopts the methods of literature research,questionnaire survey and action research.On the basis of collecting,sorting out and reading related literature,the questionnaire survey results are analyzed through the distribution,recovery and statistics,and the learning motivation is discussed in combination with action research.The content of the article is mainly divided into theoretical exposition,investigation,analysis and basic countermeasures.Starting from the relevant background,this paper first expounds the concept,function,classification of learning motivation and the characteristics of students’ learning in secondary vocational preparatory classes,other related theoretical knowledge;Then,taking the students of a secondary vocational preparatory class in Xinjiang as an example,this paper analyzes the current situation of students’ learning motivation in secondary vocational preparatory class by issuing questionnaires,and points out the influencing factors of the lack of learning motivation;Finally,according to the current situation and influencing factors,the intervention measures for students’ lack of learning motivation in secondary vocational preparatory classes are put forward.This paper draws the conclusion that the learning motivation of the students in the preparatory classes of vocational colleges in Xinjiang is relatively weak at present,their learning lacks initiative and their response to teachers in class and reading in their spare time lack initiative,there is also a lack of effective communication among students,students and teachers.At the same time,students are prone to lack of attention and energy in class,and some students can’t complete all the learning tasks independently.The main reasons are that the learning foundation is weak,the change of living environment leads to the lack of awareness of learning input,Mandarin teaching leads to fear of difficulties,inappropriate learning methods,unfamiliar environment,and maladjustment in all aspects.To solve these problems and enhance students’ learning motivation,we must deal with them from three aspects: teachers,schools and students themselves.From the teacher’s point of view,we should encourage secondary vocational preparatory students to learn actively and independently from the perspective of positive incentives,make full use of the Internet as a learning way in the information age to enrich the learning methods of secondary vocational preparatory students;As far as schools are concerned,they should cooperate with mainland cooperative colleges and universities.The training of preparatory talents should be based on the special regional conditions in Xinjiang and the quality level of teachers should also be improved;From the perspective of secondary vocational preparatory students themselves,they should improve their awareness of learning and investment,and pay more attention to using Mandarin for communication.This paper puts forward some targeted suggestions which provide valuable empirical evidence for teachers’ training and stimulating students’ learning motivation in preparatory classes of vocational colleges in Xinjiang.
