In recent years,as a developmental evaluation tool,the application of infant growth portfolio in rural early childhood education has been paid more and more attention.Rural kindergarten use growth file cover,however,also exist many problems in urgent need of research to solve the evaluation method,this study helps to examine the current implementation results,and some of the problems,and put forward corresponding countermeasures on the basis of this,is beneficial to children’s evaluation,and help to teacher’s professional development,in order to better play the role of the method,Improve the quality and level of preschool education in rural areas.This study adopts literature research method,questionnaire survey method,interview method and object analysis method,aiming to study the application of the growth portfolio evaluation method in rural kindergartens.Based on the investigation of four village kindergartens in Wuzhi County,Henan Province,this paper analyzes the problems and causes in the application of growth portfolio evaluation method in rural kindergartens in the area,and puts forward targeted improvement countermeasures and suggestions.The survey found that the problems of rural kindergartens using the growth portfolio evaluation method mainly include: in the planning stage,there are a single type of plan,the unified plan in the park,the content of the plan is not complete,the serious template phenomenon;In the implementation stage,there are such problems as single source of data collected by teachers,mixed contents,not timely sorting out data,confused classification,arbitrary analysis of data by teachers and low validity.In the stage of reflection,there are some problems such as simple way of reflection,single subject of reflection,superficial content of reflection and insufficient analysis.In the improvement stage,there are some problems such as lack of improvement activities,teachers’ mechanical repetition,one-sided improvement content and poor implementation effect.In view of the above problems,the author reveals the reasons behind them from three aspects: kindergarten,teacher and family.First,the teacher’s own cultural level is limited,the education concept is wrong,the children’s growth portfolio method is not in place,the negative response to portfolio activities.Second,the kindergarten managers pay insufficient attention to the growth portfolio activities,the relevant training is not enough,the loss of teachers is serious,the teacher turnover is frequent.Third,the phenomenon of generational separation in family education in rural areas is serious,parents have a stereotype of preschool education and preschool teachers.Based on the problems and causes,the paper puts forward the following suggestions for improvement: rural kindergartens should pay attention to the application value of the growth portfolio evaluation method,and improve the professional level of teachers;Teachers should correctly understand the activities of growing portfolio and improve the quality of application in combination with teaching practice.Parents should renew the concept of education,promote home co-parenting,and help children grow up healthily.
