"Promoting the integrated development of culture and tourism,building a number of world-class scenic spots and resorts with rich cultural heritage,and creating a batch of national tourism and leisure cities and blocks with distinctive cultural characteristics" mentioned in the proposal of the CPC Central Committee on formulating the fourteenth five year plan for national economic and social development and the long-term goal of 2035,Develop red tourism and rural tourism.In this context,vocational colleges with the characteristics of vocational education undertake the task of training excellent practitioners for tourism related industries.However,after years of development of tourism education in higher vocational colleges,the quality and effect of graduates’ employment is still unsatisfactory.Various factors will cause this phenomenon.One of the factors that can not be ignored is the poor employability of tourism related majors in higher vocational colleges.Taking the tourism management major of Hebei Institute of International Business and Economics as an example,this paper analyzes the employability of Tourism Management Major Students of Hebei Institute of International Business and Economics through case analysis,survey statistics,qualitative research and literature analysis.First of all,the author selects two tourism management professional training programs of the same type of Higher Vocational Colleges for comparative study,and analyzes the gap between the two colleges in the cultivation of employability.Secondly,starting from the content of the professional ability of the talents needed by the tourism industry,through interviews with the persons in charge of star hotels and travel agencies,this paper analyzes the needs of the industry for the working ability of talents;Starting from the training quality of Tourism Management Major in our college,this paper carries out a questionnaire survey on previous graduates,students and teachers of tourism department,and analyzes the reasons for the lack of employability of students majoring in tourism management.Finally,the paper puts forward some constructive countermeasures,specifically in the following aspects: to improve the employability of students as the guidance,optimize the current curriculum of tourism management,carry out a more in-depth new school enterprise cooperation mode,and cultivate applied skilled talents in line with the needs of the tourism market;We have signed a school enterprise cooperation agreement with leading enterprises in the industry,vigorously promoted the modern apprenticeship teaching mode in the tourism management major,and made enterprises deeply participate in all aspects of talent training;Make efficient use of the college training room,increase the amount of training hours,and make it a real training place;Strictly control the quality of students’ training,and take the relevant professional qualification certificate of tourism industry as the necessary condition for graduation;To establish the credit exchange system for entrepreneurship,students who have obtained business license can exchange corresponding credits;In order to improve the employability of tourism management students,we should set up second foreign language elective courses,encourage students to participate in community activities and exercise their non-professional ability.The new era has set a higher training goal for the tourism management major in higher vocational colleges.Under this background,the author enriches the elements of the word "ability" in the competency based theory.Compared with the traditional single "professional" skills,people pay more and more attention to non professional abilities,such as cultural literacy,professional quality,innovation ability and so on.Based on the "new" competency based theory,the upgraded Tourism Management Major of the college takes into account the students’ theoretical knowledge,practical skills and professionalism,comprehensively improves the students’ employability,and contributes to the transportation of high-level skilled talents for the tourism industry.The innovation of this paper: through the in-depth investigation and Research on the current situation of the employment ability training of Tourism Management Major in Hebei Institute of International Business and Economics,this paper puts forward constructive and innovative countermeasures and suggestions for the problems existing in the employment ability training of Tourism Management Major in Hebei Institute of International Business and Economics,The specific contents include: designing the curriculum planning path of "basic skills training-core skills promotion-comprehensive skills development";Practice teaching reform of "double certificate system";The deep school enterprise cooperation mode of "modern apprenticeship" is adopted.In order to solve the existing problems in the current tourism management major,but also to provide theoretical reference and practical guidance for the promotion of the employability of Tourism Management Major in brother colleges.
