| Social exclusion is a widespread social phenomenon in real life, which affects individual physiology, psychology, emotion and behavior.Research shows that exclusion leads to the impairment of four basic needs of individuals, while individuals who have been excluded for a long time are more indifferent and isolated, and become more sensitive to the signals of exclusion, which leads to difficulties in building self-esteem and prosocial barriers. The influence of social exclusion on prosocial behavior is multiple and complex. The influence mechanism of self-esteem and rejection sensitivity on prosocial behavior is also worth exploring. This study is divided into three sub studies. In Study 1,1050 middle school students from 2 middle schools in Guangzhou were investigated on social exclusion, prosocial behavior,self-esteem and rejection sensitivity by using social exclusion questionnaire, prosocial behavior tendency scale,self-esteem scale and rejection sensitivity questionnaire, and spss25.0 was used for data analysis. The results show that:(1)long term social exclusion is negatively correlated with prosocial behavior and trait self-esteem,and positively correlated with rejection sensitivity;(2)The parallel mediating effects of trait self-esteem and rejection sensitivity between long-term social exclusion and prosocial behavior were significant. In the second study, the social exclusion recall paradigm was used to manipulate the sense of exclusion, and the prosocial will projection test and state self-esteem scale were used to test the relationship among short-term social exclusion, state self-esteem and prosocial behavior; The results showed that:(1)the rejection group showed less prosocial behavior intention than the control group;(2)The rejection group showed less prosocial behavior willingness than the neglect group;(3)The mediating effect between short-term social exclusion and prosocial behavior intention of state self-esteem was significant. In the third study, the effects of long-term social exclusion on prosocial behavior intention were tested by using social exclusion recall paradigm, prosocial intention projection test and long-term exclusion questionnaire. The results show that: after experiencing social exclusion again, high long-term exclusion experience shows less prosocial behavior. To sum up,three sub studies draw the following conclusions:(1)trait self-esteem mediates the relationship between long-term social exclusion and prosocial behavior tendency;(2)State self-esteem mediates the relationship between short-term social exclusion and prosocial behavior intention;(3)Rejection sensitivity mediates the relationship between long-term social exclusion and prosocial behavior tendency;(4)Long term exclusion moderates the relationship between short-term social exclusion and prosocial behavior intention.Individuals with high social exclusion experience are more likely to reduce their prosocial behavior intention after exclusion. |
