Social exclusion refers to the phenomenon that an individual's basic needs cannot be met after being ignored and excluded by others or social groups.Previous studies have found that when individuals are socially excluded, their psychology is impacted and affected to a certain extent, reducing prosocial behavior,Therefore,it is important to explore the mechanism of social exclusion in helping decision make and how to mitigate its adverse effects.Previous studies have also shown that there is a link between social distance and helping decision making. The closer the social distance is,the stronger the motivation for helping decision making. However, few scholars have discussed the impact of social distance on helping people in social exclusion situations. The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between social exclusion and helping decision making, and to introduce the sensitivity of rejection and social distance into the study to further explore the impact of rejection sensitivity, social distance and social exclusion on helping decision making. This research consists of two parts, rejection sensitivity questionnaire and helping decision making situation questionnaire are used to investigate the individual's rejection sensitivity and helping decision making situation, and the classic face-to-face throwing paradigm is used to induce social exclusion.Study 1used 150 college students from three universities in Wuhu City,Anhui Province as the research object,Study 1 took 150 college students from three and designed a single-factor between-subjects experiment with social exclusion as the independent variable and helping people to make decisions as the dependent variable,In this study,it is defined as the amount of time, money, and willingness spent by others. It focuses on the effectiveness of the face-to-face throwing paradigm, and exploreswhether social exclusion reduces individual's decision to help others and whether rejection sensitivity plays a moderating role. The second study further introduced the factor of social distance, experimental research on 97 college students in Wuhu City to explore the interaction of rejection sensitivity, social distance, social exclusion, and helping decision making,From the perspective of personal traits(rejection sensitivity),environmental factors(social exclusion),and social distance(strangers / friends),explore the motivation for helping decision making. The main results of this study are as follows:First, social exclusion affects the individual's decision to help others. The excluded person's time and willingness, the amount and willingness for helping others are significantly less than those who are accepted.Second, social distance and rejection sensitivity affect individual help decision making,Individuals make significantly more time and willingness, amount and willingness to help for friends than for strangers;individuals with low rejection sensitivity are more likely to supply money-helping decisions than individuals with high rejection sensitivity.Third, under the condition of close social distance(for friends),there is no significant difference between the time of high and low rejection sensitive individuals to help and the willingness to help others;under the condition of long social distance, that is,strangers, there is no significant difference in the time of high and low rejection sensitive individuals, but the willingness of individuals with low rejection sensitivity is stronger. The above results show that social exclusion is a situational factor that has an important influence on helping decisions making. The personality traits, social distance and their interaction collectively affect individuals' helping decisions making; There is a difference in the time and amount of donation for others in the willingness to help and the specific behavior of helping others. These findings further indicate that an individual's decision to help others is influenced by multiple factors.
