Research Objectives: The decline of physical health of Chinese students and the rise of obesity rate have always been the focus of national and social attention.By measuring the built environment, physical activity level and physical health level of primary school students in their communities, this study explores whether physical activity plays a mediating role in the relationship between built environment and students’ physical health level. To provide theoretical support for improving the built environment to improve the level of physical activity and then affect the level of physical health.Research Methods: Students in Grade 6 were selected as the research objects. The students’ physical activity level was measured by the accelerometer. The students’ physical health level was measured by the method in "National Student Physical Health Test".The students’ subjective built environment data were obtained through the News questionnaire, and the total factor digital map of Yangzhou was imported into Arc GIS software to obtain the objective built environment data of the communities where the students lived. The structural equation model was tested using AMOS21.0.Results:(1)The excellent and good rates of students’ physical health indexes were as follows: BMI 93.33%,vital capacity 40%,50 meters 15.8%,1-minute sit-up 26.1%,sitting body forward bending41.2%,1-minute rope skipping 38.8%.(2)The longer the distance of the objective built environment, the shorter the MVPA duration of the off-school day;Subsubjective built environmental service facility accessibility and safety precautions were positively correlated with rest day MVPA length(P < 0.05).MVPA duration of rest day was positively correlated with total score of physical health(P < 0.05).(3)When physical activity level was used as the mediating variable, the confidence interval of the mediating effect between built environment and physical health was-6.43-36.48.Conclusion :(1)There is a significant positive correlation between built environment and physical activity of Grade 6 students.(2)There is a significant positive correlation between physical activity and physical health level of Grade 6 students.(3)No mediating effect of physical activity was observed in the relationship between built environment and physical health level of primary school students.
