Intergenerational Care:"drifting Mother"’s Urban Adaptation And Inter Generational Relationship

With the acceleration of urbanization,the scale of China’s mobility has increased year by year.The opening of the labor market has attracted more young people to struggle in first-and second-tier cities.However,the pressure of urban life has increased so that young children have relayed the arduous task of raising the next generation.Parents living in a foreign land,so more old Piao people came to big cities with their children in order to take care of the third generation.It can be predicted that with the continuous development of the economy and the liberalization of the two-child policy,more elderly people will be taken care of by inter-generational care.The problem has entered the ranks of the floating population.The Lao Piao tribe has both "old" and "Piao" characteristics,but its internal heterogeneity is still there.The author mainly studies the female Lao Piao tribe in inter-generational care,which is called Drifting mother in the article.The main place of life in the city for Drifting mothers with the task of raising grandchildren is their children’s homes.Inter generational relations are bound to have an important influence on Drifting mothers.Therefore,this article explains the relationship between Drifting mothers’ inter generational relations and urban adaptation.,Discuss Drifting mother’s urban adaptation and inter generational relations.The article adopts qualitative research methods and selects several Drifting mother in Beijing’s S community as the research objects.First,it analyzes Drifting mother’s urban adaptation situation from the dimensions of role adaptation,daily life adaptation,interpersonal adaptation and psychological adaptation,and then based on generations.The theory of mood of inter-contradictory relations is developed separately from inter-generational unity and inter-generational contradictions,depicting the status of inter-generational relations,and discussing how inter-generational relations play a role in the urban adaptation of Drifting mother.The study found that despite individual differences,overall,Drifting mother’s role adaptation and daily life adaptation are better than interpersonal adaptation and psychological adaptation.Inter generational relationship is the main interpersonal relationship that exists in the family.It is manifested in two forms: inter generational unity and inter generational contradiction.Inter generational unity is beneficial to alleviating the economic and material pressure of mothers,and to a certain extent,it will also enhance the level of interpersonal communication.Its urban adaptability;inter generational conflicts will put pressure on Drifting mother and manifest in the form of conflict.Among them,the conflict between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law is the most obvious,which will affect the physical and mental health of Drifting mother to a certain extent,make it change the process of adaptation,and even force Drifting mother Interrupt the adaptation process.However,it is worth noting that appropriate conflicts will promote family harmony through the safety valve mechanism,which is conducive to the adaptation of the floating mother city.Therefore,conflicts may be transformed into unity,and inter generational relations should be avoided from extremes.Inter generational relationship is a necessary factor influencing the adaptation process of Drifting mother city.Handling the inter generational relationship has a positive impact on the city adaptation and family harmony of Drifting mother.
