Factors Influencing The Use Of Health Code Among The Elderly During The COVID-19 Pandemic

The emergence of COVID-19 in 2020 changed people’s basic life and spread all aspects of society.In order to reduce the spread of the pandemic as much as possible,the state and social forces jointly issued the "Health Code",which is used to manage people’s daily travel and has achieved good anti pandemic effect,becoming a highlight of digital governance during the pandemic period.However,with the development of health code,many problems begin to be exposed.The elderly have no smart phones do not know how to operate and can not use mobile traffic,which limit their travel.Under the pandemic situation,the digital gap in public services is obvious,which reflects that the elderly are facing many difficulties in digital survival.Under the trend of normalization of follow-up pandemic prevention and control,the application scope of health code will be more and more extensive.Timely understanding of the influencing factors of elderly people’s health code use behavior will help to reduce the travel difficulty during the pandemic period and ensure their basic life.In this paper,qualitative research was selected to explore the influencing factors of the use of health code for the elderly.Based on non-participatory observation,56 elderly people aged 60 and above in Dalian were interviewed by using the method of the ground theory.The30-60 minute interview was conducted for each of the interviewers,and the text data were collected and imported into the NVIVO12 software.Through three-layer coding,a bottom-up model of "influencing factors of elderly health code use behavior" was constructed,and the influencing factors were divided into user factors,social support,environmental factors and product factors.It is found that user factors directly affect the use of health codes of the elderly.Subjective and objective conditions such as physical function,media literacy,perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use put forward more restrictions on the use of health codes of the elderly.Personal characteristics such as value perception,self perceived aging and collectivism play an important role in the use of health codes of the elderly;The internal role of family in social support can not be ignored,and formal support from the outside of society becomes an important substitute.Environmental factors and product factors are indirect factors,which play a mediating role by influencing social support and user factors respectively.On the whole,the social environment is still deficient in encouraging innovation and accepting aging.There is room for progress in hard environment such as equipment holding,network access and learning resources.The overall situation of soft environment such as social atmosphere,policy support and public opinion guidance is better;The low efficiency of products and the absence of aging transformation seriously affect the user experience of the elderly using health code.Based on the above analysis,this paper found that the rejection of the elderly is serious in the process of using health code,Motivation,available support resources and humanistic care are relatively scarce,resulting in the gradual loss of dignity of the elderly,and there is the problem of low fitness of digital products for the elderly.The reason for these phenomena may be that most of the elderly are lack of digital thinking,and it is difficult to get support for a long time,which leads to the occurrence of learned helplessness.Under the background of the rapid development of the Internet,the elderly are easy to become a neglected group,and the market lacks the development of electronic products for the elderly.With the health code as the starting point,the endogenous motivation of the elderly can be stimulated in the future by strengthening the self-efficacy and media literacy.The family and the society can work together to provide adequate social support for the elderly,and create a digital inclusive space by strengthening network infrastructure and reforming the university for the elderly.On the basis of understanding the real demands of the elderly for electronic products,we should carry out reasonable transformation for aging,so as to improve the digital quality of life for the elderly.
